It was a good watch, completely different from what I was expecting. I'd love to do that walk sometime too

Some of those gates looked a bit tricky though haha I knew what to expect, being a walker myself and having seen the last series. Merse was the first footballer to take part and his walk was made interesting by the way he bared his soul and also because of his complete naivety about what to expect and his total clumsiness. It's a good job there was no bull in that field because I don't think Merse would have made it across. I hope Merse keeps on walking, it's good for the soul.

I too wish him well but if you read his autobiography I don’t think you’d be quite so non judgemental or understanding. The example I’d like to give is him taking a dump in the bed pillow of Arsenal keeper Seaman’s hotel bed and then finding the aftermath hilarious?? Honestly, no wonder the general public (partic. non footy fans) think of footballers as pampered and privileged? And by association we footy fans then get seen as just as moronic for saluting and applauding the guys who display such behaviour. The swagger, the we’re better than you, the attitude towards fans etc etc One thing the FA/Prem League should do is insist all players live within 30 minutes of their training ground so e.g. the Stoke squad would live Trentham, Clayton, Stone, Eccleshall, Baldwins Gate etc (like they used to!!) instead of bloody Wilmslow and Alderley Edge. This would mean they were more approachable and more connected to the community which pays them shed loads of cash?

But if the Prem League insist away teams are within X or Y amount of miles from venue day before a match then I strongly feel teams buying players should insist on the contract a) you need to live X amount of miles from area b) we expect you to occasionally participate in community projects c) we expect you to learn about and take an interest in the local heritage/history/culture of the local people. Are you …….. (insert name of player) willing to participate in your club to this extent? If not ….. f*#$ off!!

Was this the same show that had the lady Tory MP and Alastair Campbell walking?

I just wish people would accept that addiction to anything is an illness and that addiction goes further than the four taboo subjects of drink, smoking, drugs and gambling. People cause themselves just as much harm if they are addicted to shopping (huge credit card debts, loan sharks etc) and eating to name but two.
If we are honest with ourselves, we are all addicts to some degree. We all have our vices. It's human nature and part of the makeup of the human brain.

Nonsense? I’d say it’s nonsense to allow overpaid players to carry on being bellends, have zero respect for the paying public and no intention of having anything to do with issues in places such as Stoke, Burnley, Huddersfield etc etc Meanwhile the rest of society struggles with fuel bills, inflation etc The result of my ideas would be that a) they’d actually go some way to earning their stupid, F….ing obscene wages and b) society in general might have a slightly kinder view of them?

Sadly there are plenty of ungenerous pricks on this MB who have neither the imagination nor the emotional intelligence to put themselves in someone else's shoes.
