I don’t see how he could be any worse to be honest. He’s scored one on three for a team that’s about to finish higher than us. Even a moderate contribution of 10-12 goals might have made a big difference to our final position. Literally anyone would have contributed more than Fletcher this season, he’s stunk the place out apart from 2/3 hard working performances around the time of Blackpool away….. He’s been dreadful hasn’t he? His finishing is what disappoints me. For a player of his calibre he’s so wasteful.

In my view, with Campbells current fitness issues, he’s no worse and probably better than what we currently have.

We bring in these strikers because they are decent, or else why bring them to the club? But the moment they put on the Red n White stripe they become crap. Why is this? It must be our fault, because too many fail here Brown had his best ever season and was the last striker we've bought.

In what way, what does he do? When he was here he didn't run, didn't jump, didn't hold the ball up, didn't link the play. The days when you could carry a passenger who does nothing but goal hang are gone. He isn't a lone striker and his movement as part of a two was with us wasn't anything to write home about either. He's had his first ok season in years at Millwall this season and yet is still behind Jacob Brown in the scoring charts, a player who for all his limitations actually does put a shift in in addition to getting some goals.

Right here and now I’d have Afobe in our team ahead of Fletcher Maja and Campbell. That’s not to say I’m a fan of Afobe. His transfer fee, in hindsight, was a joke and his work rate at times was poor. What do the others do, and have demonstrated this season, that Afobe can’t?

The Wendy's have even got a Gregory song going that incorporates our name 🤣 Are they actually singing words? I lived in Yorkshire quite a long time but haven't got a clue what they are singing 16 goals for Gregory at Wednesday is pretty good going. Not good enough for the Championship though imo and we simply had to get rid. Good luck to him though. 8 for Berahino not bad either.

We love ferrets, lard, coal and outside toilets. Then something I couldn't make out. Possibly about Brian Glover and the forthcoming promise of electricity

I honestly don't think the problem lies with our huge array of 'so-called' failed strikers.....
Many of them seem to leave Stoke and then begin to score goals for their new team. Apart from fan-pressure and expectation, I think the problem lies in our slow ponderous build-up play, lack of vision, poor delivery, and general lack of quality in our midfield / wings.
Its been the same since we lost the likes of Arnie and Co.

The strikers themselves aren’t awful, they are just often not the right player for the system that we are trying to use. Vokes as a lone striker is a prime example of playing a striker to their weaknesses.

Vokes as a lone striker is a prime example of playing a striker to their weaknesses. Afobe was awful. He wasn't a lone striker, true, but his work rate was utterly lamentable. Surridge again just has no all round game. I don't see which team he fits into as anything but a bit-part player/impact sub. It would certainly help though if we could target strikers who can already do what we need them to do rather than thinking we can mould ones who can't.
