Head and heart?
Head Robertson
Heart Ronnie
Only other outstanding question is whether to watch it on BBC or Eurosport.

I hope anybody but O'Sullivan wins it. I just can't stand him even though he is a brilliant player.

Liam Highfield from stoke currently playing (born in Swindon but moved to stoke) Gooaaarn lad Cost pot bow in the hoe and screw it back……. I was at The Crucible yesterday watching him (he's a mate of mine) and there was a sizeable Stoke contingent in attendance supporting. Went in a 6-3 behind last night but pulled it back to a one frame deficit this morning. Trailing again though now as he just hasn't been able to punish McGill when he's had the opportunity. You watch him go on and win it now because I'm not there and will miss out on the post-victory piss-up 😂

What a cruel fluke to win it. Yep, it's a cruel game. Great fightback from LH however and some tremendous long potting from him. It was his break building that cost him overall though.

Head and heart says O'Sullivan.
One of 8 or 9 players are very capable of winning it though, and it might not even be one of those.
A Chinese player will win it soon if not this year, which could open the floodgates for some Chinese domination.

Can someone explain to me why snooker players aren't absolutely unbeatable at pool, which is on a much smaller table, with pockets like Ulrika Jonsson's fanny?
You'd think they'd absolutely dominate, it's got to be easier.

One of running buddies was there on Tuesday, he said he got the ticket to watch a mate but his mate flunked winning a tournament recently and didn't qualify, think it may have been the Gibraltar open or something like that, immediately lost out on about £250k - £500k

One of running buddies was there on Tuesday, he said he got the ticket to watch a mate but his mate flunked winning a tournament recently and didn't qualify, think it may have been the Gibraltar open or something like that, immediately lost out on about £250k - £500k Top 16 ranked players automatically qualify for the World Championships and are seeded. Everyone else ranked between 16-60 (I think) has to play in the qualifying tournament the week before at The English Institute of Sport in Sheffield. Depending on where a player sits in the two-year rankings, they have to play either three or two qualifying matches. Player who wins the World Championship gets 500k with the runner up getting 250k. Kyren Wilson lost the final of the 2022 Gibraltar open to Robert Milkins. However, this didn't cause Wilson to drop out of the top 16 and he's currently into the second round after dispatching Ding Junhui 10-8 yesterday.

You'd think they'd absolutely dominate, it's got to be easier. How do you know they aren’t? I wonder if there’s some kind of “code of conduct” whereby pro snooker players aren’t allowed to play pro pool perhaps🤷🏻♂️ I’ve no idea if any have played both professionally although I’ve got something in my mind Steve Davies went into after snooker🤔 I also have my doubts whether a snooker player could transfer their ability onto a pool table and beat the best, it’s a totally different game really

From memory I'm pretty sure most of them played in winning European teams, some of them multiple winning teams, and Davis in particular was in the team for a good decade. Dunno if that gives you an answer or not.

Mark Selby was World 8 ball pool champion Selby has also played in Ultimate Pool too. His brother in law Stoke's very own pool pro Gareth Potts and can regularly be found at Players in Newcastle. Trump also played in the US Open Pool Championship a couple of years back.

As mentioned, many snooker players have won pool tournaments (including in doubles), but I'm not sure if that happens less often for some reason these days? Maybe because the snooker tour has expanded, so there are more tournaments for snooker players to enter - meaning they don't have time to enter pool tournaments as much. In general, snooker players are more likely to beat pool players at pool, than pool players are to beat snooker players at snooker. Here's Ronnie O'Sullivan in his younger days playing one of the all-time pool greats, Earl Strickland, over 3 frames: Ronnie wins.
