Doubtful we'll see him until August now then.
Not much point in rushing him back for a few dead rubbers.

3rd quad injury of the season. I always laboured under the impression that the quad was the hardest of the muscles to injure and the femer? (thigh) the hardest bone in your body to break. Pitches? Boots? Covid jab? Coincidence?

That’s bad news, but hardly shocking unfortunately.

If he plays like he did on Saturday he might as well rest for six weeks!

Well that just puts a stinking cherry on top of a fetid cake.
Just chucking something really baseless out there without stats or facts, but we do seem to struggle with a lot of injuries and it can't really be a coincidence can it? Can it just be bad luck?

Nick Powell, Stephen Fletcher... Not being funny but we have got some players who we can't be surprised are always crocked. As for the ACLs, from what I understand that's straight up bad luck. Let's be honest too, Souttar and Campbell... Even worse luck that it's been our best two players.

I honestly don't know. Fletcher granted.
Not sure on the ACL's, but I read some journal somewhere on sport science that tried to hint that ACL injuries can be attributed (or they were trying to...) to physical strain and a lack of recovery - but I suppose you could say that about everything?
I don't know, but it seems a bit strange with us.

Serious question. Should Powell get a new contract at the end of the season, or do we cut our losses? Great player on his day but unfortunately there aren't that many of them. Also misses more than he plays through injuries. I genuinely am not sure about whether he is worth his undoubted high salary. Controversial I guess but it's a real question mark for me.

We should get rid of him. No good playing for a few games and missing a load of others...

Not controversial at all mate. Misses far too many games and how some people think you can build your team around him I’ll never understand. Has a decent game every 6 or 7 games which is no good for the team, club or Manager. Off load him whilst he still has some sort of value.

Isn't his contract up in July, although I understand there is a 1 year option but not sure who or what triggers it?

Would a slightly less-talented, but more reliable, no10 be a better option? Not controversial, it's a fair point.

Also misses more than he plays through injuries. I genuinely am not sure about whether he is worth his undoubted high salary. Controversial I guess but it's a real question mark for me. He signed a new contract just a couple of weeks ago, so the question should really be do we give him a contract extension at the end of the now current contract? There can only be one answer, YES! Get him fit by not picking him for the rest of the season; when doctors say that he is medically fit, it doesn't follow that he is match fit, and if we had anything at stake I suppose he might regain some fitness by playing, but it could just as easy go the other way, which is exactly what has happened now. So concentrate on building him slowly but surely, so he is fully ready for a great start to next season. I don't believe his wages are that high; but to be perhaps naive I don't think he's motivated as much by money but more by whether or not he feels good and appreciated at the club, and I think he does. At least that's what he said in the recent Duck interview.
