Shane Warne always seemed to me to be the epitome of the Australian character, informal, irreverent, humourous and young outlook. So young and so sad.

Jesus Christ. That was unexpected
Best spinner I ever saw and always seemed a great bloke albeit with the anti-establishment demeanour.
Also an underrated commentator

Strong argument for that, isn't it. Bradman as batsman, Warne as bowler. Always liked Warne, so obviously loved and studied cricket and enjoyed good cricket whoever was playing it. Such awful news.

Gutted.
My favourite ever cricketer.
The connection he had with Australia was fantastic, but I think he was loved even more by his arch-enemies fans.
And that takes someone special.
Well bowled, Shane.

RIP Warney. What a player he was. Always played the game with a smile on his face. Devastating news. Was listening to TS just now and you could feel the clear pain in Harmason and Nicholas’s voices. He had that much impact on the game.

RIP Shocking news
Certainly the best spin bowler of all time, possibly the best bowler.
Not best cricketer. Sobers was a brilliant batsman (held record runs for a time, 6 x 6s), brilliant bowler (spin and medium pace), brilliant close fielder, brilliant captain.

That is a shocker.
Cricket and cricket commentary is now a much duller place.
He was undoubtedly one of, if not the greatest cricketer of my lifetime and certainly the most watchable.
In the great 2005 Ashes series it always felt that no matter how close England were to winning a Test and then the Ashes that Warne could and would snatch the victory away at any moment.
Even when he was semi-retired, it was always fascinating to watch him bowl his 4 overs in the IPL and show that he was still an immense competitor.
RIP Shane

What a shock. One hell of a player and sportsman. As said by AlliG his commentary was fantastic as well, critical and fair but also funny and insightful.
Two big losses for Aussie cricket in such a short space of time.
