If I was her I’d be a bit miffed that it wasn’t over £300m.

She paid nearly half a billion in tax last year - unlike some who park their wealth in tax havens.

It always amazes me when this stuff comes out each year. The anti gambling fraternity jump all over her when the cold, hard truth is that she could fold Bet365 tomorrow and gambling will still be as big an issue tomorrow as it is today.
The gamblers would just move to another company and carry on.
The more established corporate gambling companies don't get a tenth of the grief she does.
I wonder why?

She paid nearly half a billion in tax last year - unlike some who park their wealth in tax havens. And that's the point, isn't it? No problem with people earning and generating vast sums of money provided they are prepared to make their full contribution to society by way of their tax contributions.

However you spin it, it's obscene. She will have done more by way of contribution in her lifetime than all of the posters on here to inject money into the exchequer and look after local folk. She gives loads away including an "obscene" amount to Royal Stoke during covid. What is obscene is that she paid more tax than Apple, Facebook and Amazon put together in the UK. She's an easy target, female made good. She wouldn't even register on my radar compared with some.

The extra grief she gets is just local. All of the bookies are getting grief for profiting bigtime during the pandemic with so many people stuck in their homes and betting online.

However you spin it, it's obscene. If you started your own business from a portacabin in Stafford and progressed to that level, would it still be obscene if that profit was yours? They are a credit to this country in how they conduct their business.

How do you spend £300 mil in lockdown though!?

BAN outright credit card betting online.
The Coates family are billionaires out of online gambling.
