If not then only the rich can do it, that's what happened in the olden days.

MPs will get a £2,200 pay rise from next month Must be a struggle for them. The man on the street will just shrug his shoulders and accept it Meanwhile local council worker will ask for £1 extra per week and that’ll send the man on the street apoplectic Pathetic isn’t it and those MPs are laughing their bollocks off

MPs tried to cancel it but it couldn’t be done. Minister pat has been frozen because it’s in with the remit
I don’t care about MPs pay. I want it as high as can be but crack down on extra earnings

MPs will get a £2,200 pay rise from next month Must be a struggle for them. And this is why very few of them speak out or rock the boat over any issue. Nothing will ever change because the public just shrug their shoulders and accept it. So what is the basic wage of an MP now…£80k + per year plus expenses ? Not a bad little number if you can get it.

Every single one of them should be ashamed and refuse the rise........we know they wont be though and will pocket it. Im gonna ask my boss for a couple of grand pay rise - see what he says......

I'd like them to be paid double what they are now receiving with no access to second incomes in the hope that eventually we'll get a better class of MP coming through. If any individual MP is uncomfortable they can shit a chunk of to their favourite charity. I'd like the parties to be funded from the public purse with no access to third party sponsorship or influence. Something's got to change. We certainly need better candidates than what we've got across the board. Ban everyone from office with a politics degree and absolutely no lawyers

What are the rules for shares etc? Can't expect someone to throw away everything, but they need to be out of their control while in power at least?
