First ever match thread here in all my years of blessing you with sharp my wit and intelligence So what do we think? Will mad Nath finally extinguish any lingering hopes of a play off spot or will this be the catalyst to a huge winning run that sees us bang in form at just the right time. I also learnt this morning that another bloody storm was due! UTMP - I’m going for a high scoring 3-2 win with a brace for Phil and Jean I agree Stoke will win this one and the 6/5 on offer with the bookies is reasonable in this case. Enjoy the moment when it happens but Stoke are not going to make the play offs this season.

So this is from since we were last promoted.
Points needed for 6th:
70, 74, 70, 75, 75, 68, 72, 78, 74, 80, 75, 74, 70 and 77
So 72/73 needed as minimum really. And that's being conservative.
So 29 points needed, more like 32/33. From 15 games.
Ouch.

We should have 2 wins from the last 2 and bottled it. There's nothing to suggest we can get can get 30 odd points from the 45 on offer. I would imagine next season? He started jogging for the first time last week according to his Insta.

I agree, although they haven't been played yet though so that suggests it's doable, the points are there to be had, we have to attack from the first whistle and throw caution to the wind to a certain extent and take them which o Neill will have no option but to do shortly

Our home form is pretty dire and let’s be honest we are bang average to watch at home. I wouldn’t bet against any team to beat us away, we’re that different. O’Neill treading on even thinner ice!!! SCFC 1 MAD NATH 2 Yes we need a German manager ASAP

The question is: Will our Manager believe that we can win, or will he have accepted beforehand that we will do well to secure a point against "difficult opponents".

Bursik
Smith Wilmot or Moore Jagielka Tymon
Allen Baker
Campbell Powell Philogene-Bidace
Wright-Phillips (every now and then rotate with Campbell)
We'll win 4-0 (Wright-Phillips, Campbell x2, Philogene)
Ahh, i can only hope.

If Maja can’t play: Bursik Smith Moore (rest Jagielka) THB Tymon Allen Baker Brown Powell JPB Campbell 2-0 to the Mighty Potters. Not sure I’d risk Campbell as a solo, central striker. Campbell isn’t exactly good with his back to goal. He won’t press, he won’t win headers and he may very well get battered around more as he has to deal with more 50-50s. The latter point worries me most.

It’s going to be a very interesting team selection given sawyers and Powell could both be available

Play 1-4-3-2. GK: Bursik: Libero: Jags; Defence: THB, Moore, Left Wing back: Thompson, Right win back: Tymon; Midfield: Baker, Allen; Attack: CF: Brown, Inside forwards: DWB, JPB. Subs: Campbell, Wilmot, Fletcher, Sawyers, Powell, Fox. And I would tinker with playing Tymon on the right side. You never know.

Edit: apparently it’s a sweeper + play maker, which Jagielka isn’t really one of. What qualities do you see in Tymon that make him worthwhile trying on the right? He doesn’t seem particularly two-footed and not necessarily “tricky”.

Luton are going to be full of intensity and energy. We simply have to play a team that can do the same.

I don’t have a good feeling about this one.
Which might not be a bad thing because I had a good feeling about the Brum game…..

Hi , Luton fan in peace . I wouldn't worry too much . we often don't perform too well against lower ranked clubs . we save our best performances for the bigger clubs . As we are both over performing at the moment ( good draw against birmingham who thrashed us ) maybe a draw tomorrow . Anyway , good luck for the rest of the season and hope you improve on your 15th position from last season .
