I do get a strong impression on this board that whatever formation we play ,if we don’t win, is a shit formation. Maybe 262 might work?

Much improved since deadline day would be my assessment. Very slightly improved this season overall.

I don’t see how you can say we’re ’much improved’ when we’re one point better off then we were at the same stage last season. We’ve been more pleasing on the eye the last few games but we’re still no closer to being a side that can consistently win games in this league. We are but you have to compare at the end of the season. Last season we were at the start of a dreadful run. I can't be bothered to look up how many points we got in the last fifteen games but I remember wondering why I kept paying £10 to watch a stream of the matches. I am expecting some entertaining matches for the rest of this season when we score goals but unfortunately like yesterday concede far too easily. The big question for next season is can we sort out our defence while still playing the attacking football we've seen recently. The minus point is that there is no way JPB will be here but perhaps Campbell, Powell, DWP, hopefully Maja if we buy him and perhaps eventually Tezgel can give us those moments which get you off your seat. I’d imagine we have a chance of a loan for Bidace next season if he likes it here and Gerrard is happy for him to get for first team experience. Just because we think he’s a talent, doesn’t mean Villa are going to shoehorn him into their premier league team next season. I personally think he’d benefit greatly from a full season in the championship, similar to the likes of Mason Mount. On the defensive side I think it’s maybe time to bring Moore in to the starting 11. Bellis has had some bad and some good games(inconsistent) and Jags probably shouldn’t be expected to play every week although he’s been pretty excellent so far. Wilmot and Tymon(particularly) have done a decent job at full back as a stop gap but there is urgent attention needed in these areas in particular, again!

I’ve enjoyed the football in the last four games. Certainly a lot more entertaining than most of this season as been and we’ve been very unlucky not get six points from the last two games. Play offs probably gone but plenty of reason for optimism for next year If we can get Souttar back to his best, keep Powell fit and get a season loan for JPD and THB I’d be confident of a real challenge for the top two
