What on earth was that all about? Stopping fans who were already mixed from getting out and going home??
Absolutely no need for Dogs everywhere as well on the roundabout.
No wonder nobody likes the police

Also there’s always one nob shouting at people walking past who are not causing an issue. So cool

Total over reaction brum fans were one of the best behaved and polite group of away fans had this season.

Absolutely ridiculous amount of coppers there today, especially on the way from the away end up to the Power League

hindsight is a great thing. Maybe because there was so many police that could be the reason Brum were so well behaved.

Not sure what you did or didn't see, but I saw the Police ended up having to spray something on a couple of Brum fans on the roundabout and were having to push some Stoke fans back with their batons.

You can’t expect thousands and thousands of pounds to be spent this afternoon without some sort of justification can you? I’m sure my boss would want to see some evidence of him paying me for overtime?!?

Seems to have excessive but did they have a tip off and prevented mayhem?
Who knows

Seems to have excessive but did they have a tip off and prevented mayhem? Who knows Yes that’s seems to be plausible as they seemed to expect trouble and so hopefully prevented it.

Seems to have excessive but did they have a tip off and prevented mayhem? Who knows Yes it certainly looked as if they were expecting trouble before the match. I've never seen so many police lining Stanley Matthews Way even in the Premier League days. Inside the ground the Birmingham fans didn't seem hostile at all and I thought they contributed to a decent atmosphere.

Wasn't there a game last season when there were lines of police waiting outside the ground and nothing major occured?
Found it strange that a fair amount of the Police outside the ground today were west midlands officers.. Staffs either didn't feel it had enough officers to deal with whatever it was it was expecting to happen or has cash to splash

Seems to have excessive but did they have a tip off and prevented mayhem? Who knows As I said on a thread earlier in the week, they were expecting a lot of trouble and were really worried about it. Stoke have been struggling to get stewards too which hasn’t been helping, that’s why there’s been so many police at most games. But this one was a genuine worry.

There was a group of about 30 brum lads at the power league having a kick about on one of the pitches and drinking, a few coppers about keeping an eye in them

Sounds like the police presence was for expected trouble and that any such trouble was therefore prevented. Good work.

There were three riot Vans parked up at Stafford station in the morning as well.
Total overreaction in my opinion to those Brum fans who just want to have a drink in Stafford.
They do it every year and never cause any bother.

hindsight is a great thing. Maybe because there was so many police that could be the reason Brum were so well behaved. There's actually some sense in that statement. That said, was it just another excuse for them wield unnecessary power? Quite often when you let a lot of wild police officers loose on a jolly, carnage unfolds.

Stewards are fucking useless, so I've got no issue with heavy a Police presence in game like yesterday's.
I usually find and have done in the past, that the only time I've ever come into contact with an angry copper is when I've been acting like a bell end and putting myself in places where I shouldn't have been.

What was odd ia why were they standing 3 abreast in the middle of the path when we were walking up to the buses, no need at all making you go in between them.

That said I’d rather have to many police than have a situation like this. Especially when there’s kids at the game.

Especially when there’s kids at the game. I'm surprised at how little progress those lads make. Decent policing and stewardship although some might argue just let these tards fight it out. Natural selection at its finest. In fairness, I would never want to take a child near opposition fans. Too many knobheads in the world.

In terms of alien abduction or hooliganism, you’re more likely to see violence at football matches, hence the police presence.

Some people are never happy. They’d be moaning if there was no police there and violence. Some folk just love to moan. Usually when they’ve been on the wrong side of the law imo

I really dont know what the fuss is about. A few scuffles and less than a handful of arrests and everyone's up in arms. Its football its passionate and has always had the minority who can take on all the world. Nothing new really is there?
