There will still be some on here who say “I’d be surprised if there were more than 13,000 actually in the ground”.

I presume they are counting the season tickets in that number?

Strange what a bit of optimism can do!!!
A couple of new signings and change of formation have recently made us look like a whole different team, instead of that sluggish wing-back formation!!!

Very true. We look like we can take it to anyone at the minute. For those who have criticised MON's transfers, I think he's nailed it this window. Need to win this one and put us closer to the pack above as a few will drop points

The Negative Nigel sitting behind the dugouts. Don't you have a single positive word to say about the club?

We’re struggling to muster 20,000 fans for any game this season is the other way of looking at it.
I have no issues with anyone who doesn’t go especially for financial or personal reason but all seems a bit poor to me (although I firmly believe the prices for individual games are too high despite season tickets being superb value for money)

Biggest crowd = defeat more often than not at Stoke but I am looking forward to having some atmosphere. Wind could make it a lottery though.

I’m struggling to understand the maths here. 22000 has to include season tickets doesn’t it? In which case 22000 cannot be guaranteed at the game. I don’t know how many season ticket holders there are but it must be I would guess 15k. To say that over 22000 tickets have been sold for the game is slightly misleading. In fact it will be 22000 minus the number of season ticket holders.

The maths are simple if you get into the mind of the club. It’s season ticket sales + away ticket sales + home ticket sales ~ Season ticket holders that don’t turn up (though this will still be added into the final attendance) hope this helps 👍

We’re in one of our lowest positions of the season but have played well in the last few matches and brought in good players.
Despite the media stereotypes the sales for Saturday show Stoke fans want exciting football and will get behind a team playing it - no matter what division we’re in or where we are in the league.

If the crowd is say 22 k and only 20k come through the turnstiles we still sold 22k.

As I've said before the attendance is added up by the actual people who have entered the stadium.

Good news. Let’s get behind the boys in the home stretch, wouldn’t it be fantastic to see near full houses again come the last few games. Glory hunters maybe but who cares, they’ll be there and making an atmosphere which has been missing for a long time

You should realise by now 'Man in a pub' Chinese whispers is the only currency on this board not actual true facts. But don't let it deter you, a few of us do actually listen.

No mt I work turnstiles and every person who enters is counted to give a accurate attendance Which isn’t the same as ‘tickets sold’, which is what the article is referring to, no?

You are quite right the article does refer to tickets 'sold' which I assume will include all season tickets. The 'attendance' which will be announced after the game, and as Daz states will count people who went through the turnstiles, is likely to be lower because of non attendance of some season ticket holders. It will probably end up being the highest attendance anyway. So lets just wait and see and however many of us are there lets get behind the team and make those who didn't go wish they had.

The shite we've endured since the Liverpool semi with MON's great escape being a brief interlude. Thank god we've got something to get behind!
