Rekik had travelled north for a medical ahead of a six-month loan deal with Championship side on deadline day.It was revealed in December by The Athletic that Arsenal’s intention was for the centre-back, whose contract with the club runs until 2025, to spend the second half of the season on loan. Rekik, who turned 20 in December, has been a key figure for Kevin Betsy’s Under-23s this season. Often the defender who starts attacks in a back three, first team exposure (both in a back three and back four) was deemed as important for the next stage of his development. The centre-back was part of the Tunisia squad at this month’s AFCON. He was on the bench for all five of their games, coming on against Mauritania and Nigeria.

Maybe because. ince is involved in the deal? I’m sure he would probably prefer the younger lad but this solves the Ince conundrum for us I guess? Who knows?
