I remember watching Konrad Bartleski finishing second in the Downhill at Val Gardena, the previous best result by a British skier. Shocked to realise that was 41 years ago. A bit like seeing Stoke win the top flight championship, this is another thing I never expected to see in my lifetime, so congratulations to him.

It was also special because the 2nd and 3rd place went to Norway, but both boys looked really happy and enjoyed Ryding's win.
