Yeah but Charlie had 2 vital skills that I doubt can be matched : 1. A mean headlock 2. Inability to score a potentially *relegation saving penalty or it's rebound. *Yes, I realize we needed more than 2 points to stay up, but I believe that would have changed our trajectory and Brighton's! Don’t forget Butland letting the ball slip under his arm at Leicester. That is the other two points we needlessly lost. That's it...... The reason for our demise... Big time Charlie Butland And Jack "Daniels" Adams

Genuinely excited with this signing if it goes through, most important signing of the season for me. Good business on a free, imo Just asking. What do you base your excitement on?

Not if "expanding" on that would mean signing a Rhys Norrington Davies or a Cameron Carter Vickers. Lewis Baker is concise in that it is just 10 letters in all, and four syllables. Not the twenty letters or more that we are becoming used to.

So already being thin on the ground with midfielders you'd get rid of another🤷🏼♂️ this is exactly why I think you chat absolute shit mate. If you think a player who goes hiding more than the invisible man will be missed in any way then its you who's chatting shit. He's been injured like the majority of the midfield 🤷🏼♂️...but yeah let's get rid🙄

Sam clucas playing in Central midfield with Joe Allen. Also for a while I've been of the opinion we need more that can play and feel comfortable in a defensive midfield role if asked to sit deeper to allow the likes of Clucas to do what he does best, getting forward and arriving late in goalscoring positions to get a shot away, he's shown he can score goals when he's allowed to do it and to get the best of him he should be told to do it, he's good a good clean shot on him, he's useless just sitting in Central midfield. Baker is the right age should bring some much beeded energy in CM and has decent pedigree for this level being at Chelsea for 16 years. Also, hopefully it allows a 2 man midfield so we can play 4231 so can get Doughty playing who imo with his pace should be playing. Like I say, biggest signing of the season for us, makes us more flexible

I'd like to see us get at least five new players, on loan or otherwise. Last throw of the dice for MON. I'd like to take Taylor Swift out for a pint of Plum Porter, but life's a shithouse. That bloke from one direction bought her to my local for a pint of Great Budworth Best Bitter, it didn't work out for them so best to avoid taking her for a pint of beer.

One of her exes took her for a kebab just down the road from me in Kentish Town. Not sure that ended well either, so that's kebabs and a pint off the "first dates" planning list. Christ - doesn't leave much else!

Also, hopefully it allows a 2 man midfield so we can play 4231 so can get Doughty playing who imo with his pace should be playing. Like I say, biggest signing of the season for us, makes us more flexible Am I right in believing your excitement isn’t based upon actually seeing him play, but simply it being a signing?

So he's played all last season for trabzonspor as a holding midfielder?
Well that sounds really good, we won't get anything better this window will we? Not unless we can pay a fee for it.

Not at all, I've just got a good feeling about this one, aswell as the reasons above he's played in Turkey, Germany, Holland aswell as this division, so he's got plenty of games under his belt and experienced different football styles in different countries, 6ft tall, he can be a genuine sitting player if needed spreading balls about linking defence to attack. In the position we are in, what's not to like. If he was useless he would have been released far long ago, 16 years at Chelsea albeit on loan, could well be a great addition. No transfer fee either and it isn't like he's an old donkey winding down his career, just the type of profile we should be doing business for imo

We all know the MF isn't working and Baker will add something we don't have.
