Those pitches are quite bobbly over there to be fair. And who knows there may be a Papiss Cisse in there somewhere. Didn’t he beat Crouch’s wonder goal for goal of the season one year? Complete miss hit Morocco v Ghana was a mess, mounds everywhere. Possibly those Morocco moles I’ve not seen basfordhedgehog for a while. Maybe he migrated for a warmer climate and decided to cause anarchy. Although a week is quick for a hedgehog. Mind you I don’t suppose they have to go through the rigmarole of proof of vaccination and all that absolute bollocks!

In court tomorrow, wish me luck👍🏻

I often find that telling them at immigration that your fave film is Young Einstein starring Yahoo Serious and in you pop.

How did Badgers used to get on if seeking to enter South Africa? Were they classed as mixed race?

Not really sure, the only answer I've got at the minute is I can't be arsed. Not even sure why I opened this thread and told you all that I won't be watching it, but I won't. It is a bit shit to be fair. Proper Pulis today. 1-0 0-1 1-0 etc

I’m surprised by that. Do many English people watch other Nations? I have never watched the Copa America either. I’m barely interested in England, never mind a random country I have no allegiance to. I do. I watch everything I can Last world cup I only missed 45 minutes of the tournament Fair play to you mate! I can’t imagine that’s “the norm”, but it’s impressive to have such passion for a hobby.

Watch every game in every tournament although think the AFCON the dullest of all. The Asian Cup far more exciting. The unwritten rule in the AFCON seems to be when you get within shooting range, completely forget that you have to aim a t the structure with the net behind it. It has been fairly dull so far with all the binary scorelines, early days as group games are often cagey, hopefully it will liven up as things progress.

There's a lot of incisive attack minded play that hits a dead end once it gets to the penalty area.

It’s proper gone tits up apparently the refs been banned for corruption before 😂😂 Was a season in Nigeria think it was some time back where in the entire league was one away win all season and that team of course won the league. No draws just home wins. Was a riot after the game and the away team had to be rushed to safety. Basically every team had the same points apart from the 2 involved in that game.

Mali reckon they should be awarded a 3-0 win. Which would make it the highest scoring game of the tournament

It’s proper gone tits up apparently the refs been banned for corruption before 😂😂 He was provisionally suspended by CAF in November 2018 following allegations of corruption during a CAF Champions League game between Esperance and Primiero Agosto, but the suspension was lifted in January 2019 when he was cleared in a disciplinary hearing. He's a very experienced official, refereed the 2016 World Club Cup Final and two games in the World Cup in Russia 2018, was touted as a possible for the final too, maybe he needs to invest in some new time pieces.

I can vaguely remember this too but can't find anything online with a quick look. I did find another story below though from 2008 which emphasises the type of corruption that goes on in Nigeria: To put the NFF into perspective it would be like FIFA investigating corruption inside FIFA. The Nigeria Football Federation has suspended four teams involved in "scandalous scorelines" after two lower league clubs chasing promotion and needing to boost their goal differences won games 79-0 and 67-0. In the matches, played at the same time, Plateau United Feeders reportedly scored 72 of their goals in the second half to beat Akurba FC 79-0. Police Machine swept 61 goals past Babayaro FC in the second 45 minutes of their 67-0 game. The NFF called it "a mind-boggling show of shame" and said players, match officials and the tournament coordinator would be investigated for match-fixing. The federation's director of competitions said "anyone found to have played some role in this despicable matter" would be "severely dealt with".

I thought at first it must have been exaggerated but pretty sure the National team was suspended for a while. Unless getting the country wrong. Was 100% one of the African leagues

Was 100% one of the African leagues Think it was Nigeria, I saw it in World Soccer magazine, just can't spot anything online. I got it slightly wrong. The top 10 teams lost no games at home. Kahno Pillars won all their home games and didn't concede a goal all season at home but only won twice away. Basically home wins were a gimme in the league. Kahno Pillars winning away won them the league over their rivals.

Finally a game with more than one goal! 3-1 to Cameroon against Ethiopia with half an hour still to play...... By far the best game so far, ended 4-1, Ethiopia made a game of it too, had a fair few chances but Cameroon were stronger and very good going forward, Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting had a good game too, German coaching has certainly aided his game. Vincent Aboubakar was a hand full up front, seems a waste that he's now playing league football in Saudi Arabia at 30 years old, good record at Porto and Besiktas and 33 international goals in 82 games.
