In light of a post I made in my favourite Song chain name thread about owning Don't try to stop by Roman Holliday what records are other posters either embarrassed or dumbfounded about?
I've always loved music , I'm 52, brought up on Roxy Music by my dad. The Jam, The Clash, Madness ,The Specials.
80's was OMD, Depeche, Human League
90's Oasis, Shed Seven,Inspiral Carpets etc
Yet inexplicably having had a good sort out I own these horrors in my 7 inch collection.
Tarzan Boy. Baltimora Don't try to stop. Roman Holliday . Since Yesterday. Strawberry switchblade .
Has anyone else got stuff that they think like me, when the hell and why did I buy that guff.
Tarzan boy easily the most embarrassing and bizarre record in my little black box.

I bought it after a break up when it was in the charts. Feel like a right tit now, I don’t know what was going through my head! That Baltimora tune is ace, I always have a sing to that on the rare occasions it hits the airwaves😀

Ghostbusters, Ray Parker Jr I was obsessed with the film and just wanted any merch connected to it! I hated the song as a 5 year old and hate it even more now! Although I did have all the action figures with the ectoplasm!

Only thing I can think of is Styx - Pieces of Eight. I suppose it's not such a bad album, it just that I cannot stand any Styx music nowadays. At least it wasn't the album with Mr. Roboto on it.

Should have bought the top of the pops album from 1972 you got the LHLFL free plus crazy horses and some TRex and Slade. The other advantage is all the covers csme on handy for a quick sherman. topofthepopslps.weebly.com/uk-vol-28.html

Bernie Flint - holds the record for the longest continuous run of wins on the ITV talent show, Opportunity Knocks. Every Woolworths i went in the late 70s had hundreds of copies of this for sale 5p in the reject box. Hardly bought any novelty records but possibly most embarrassing was - Banana Splits - - The Dickies

Wouldn't say it was embarassing but Terry Jacks 'Seasons in the sun' was one of the cheesiest purchases I ever made. However, one of the wonders of buying a 45 was when you eventually picked it up and turned it over for the first time...

I was only 14 though Ha remember going up Hanley with a few mates in 96. We all went HMV and one of the lads was well into his gangsta rap. He disappeared for a bit and I caught up with him at the till. He handed over the usual stuff, 2pac, snoop dogg, dr Dre, notorious BIG. Then, sandwiched between them was Wannabe by The Spice Girls. He couldn’t deny it and we ripped him for the rest of the decade😀

However, one of the wonders of buying a 45 was when you eventually picked it up and turned it over for the first time... I always loved turning over a new single and listening to the B side. Some of them are wonderful. But I agree with you, the Terry Jacks one is an absolute stinker!
