22k I think it said. Nowhere near that in reality. Loads of empty seats and for various reasons most season tickets holders I know didn't go.

Felt a bit sorry for Shawcross - his long awaited farewell to the supporters was done in front of a third full ground.

It is pointless even looking what the given attendance is as we all know it is fictitious. My guess 14k.

As stated a gazillion times on billions of threads on the subject of exaggeration……the official attendance is derived by number of season ticket holders plus match tickets sold for the day. Many ST holders probably didn’t go because the crap football, weather , time of the year and of course pandemic. I think the ST holders account for around 18k.

The first thing a Stoke player did last night was Batth misjudging a long ball and it got worse from there. What was there to shout about and get behind?

I hate this argument, because we all know that the players respond better to positive encouragement. This “oh no, you go first” mentality has led to one of the most pathetically quiet grounds in the league.

Some seem to have trouble grasping this What? you're saying them at the turnstiles dont count everyone in? Im not having that They count everyone in from a H&S perspective, the official attendance is tickets sold though. Almost every club in the land does it this way these days, certainly in the top two leagues anyway……

What has there been to be positive about for the last 6 home games? They’ve been booed off now 2/3 times? And you can justify it all. The fans aren’t the issue.

Maybe because their team played a lot better rather than looking like a Sunday league side? Plus away fans do make more noise, it's a day out and more of an event for them, and they'll usually have their hardcore support in attendance
