Good fucking news from Ubi Toronto
It's getting a remake, next year marks the 20th Anniversary of the first game.
They're confirmed it won't be changed to open world, it's purely a straight up remake.
If any of the SC games needed redoing, it was this one.

I know it’s against the grain but I really enjoyed conviction over all the splinter cells other than the first.

I know it’s against the grain but I really enjoyed conviction over all the splinter cells other than the first. I liked the idea originally for Conviction where Sam was a fugitive through the whole thing, without working with Grim or anything. On the run after his Double Agent work with the JBA, don't know if Williams would've been involved in the story, would've made sense though because he was the one on Sam and Lambert's tails.
That concept for gameplay ended up getting turned into Watch Dogs I believe.
But yeah, the actual game we got was still pretty decent. I didn't like the Execution feature though, didn't feel very Splinter Cell so I tended to go without using it.

I liked the mark and execute it’s a feature that at times allowed you to play the game differently than the others, Sam is a bad ass and he’s out for revenge so sometimes going loud isn’t a bad thing. Also it saved me from having replay levels again and again lol. Did you play ghost recon wildlands fisher appears in that for some stealth missions.

Yeah I played Wildlands, sort of have a good plot to follow on from if Toronto go that route in the future with stopping the Nukes that Fourth Echelon got wind of. Sounded like they geared it up for a game cantered around it and then just didn’t do it.

Ah, I've not played Breakpoint unfortunately so didn't know.
Though I read on Neogaf, someone mentioned that they were develop a sort of exo suit for field agents and that Fisher was the obvious candidate for one? It was to aid aging field agents or something?

I guess the enemies still just think there are three fireflies having a threesome in random dark corners.
What a cracker the original game was, I've got a feeling it's simple and tight enough that it'll hold up alright for a remake.

The goggles have become iconic, it's one of those things in gaming people remember.
Sega does what Nintendont, $299, Lara Croft having humongous breasts, these goggles. Might not be on the same iconic scale as those others mentioned, but iconic it is.
The internet would've exploded if Splinter Cell Remake was announced at E3 with a proper trailer.
