I say this everytime but... as great as that day was he was even better the season before when we beat Reading 2.0 the day after Thorne was sold, he played free role behind Andy Cooke

One of my all-time favourite skilful players was Hoekstra. I was there at both games as a ST holder, but I would have paid treble the cost of a ticket to see him in those two Reading games. Tyrese could do worse than studying this clip on how easy it is to beat a keeper, and all the players could learn how to take a penalty. Great memories. Thanks.

It’s nuts how hard he hits that second one.. lanky, rangy sorts like him often struggle to get that much power behind a shot but he absolutely laces it

We were signing a Dutch striker and the deal fell through and his agent asked would we be interested in Hoekstra. One website reported we,'d signed Huistra, can't remember which . 😀
