Yes, great player - one of those players I used to love watching - he was worth the admission fee despite playing for Liverpool. Having signed him Sir Stan released him as a junior because he was "too slow to be a professional" - I'm glad he was Vale manger at the time. It would have been a big blot on his Stoke career had he been our manager!

Thought he had MS for some reason but think getting mixed up with John Robson the Villa player of the same era. Both similar style players.

When I worked in Swansea Ray signed for them. The Swans fans were very disappointed at his relative lack of co-ordination. Of course this was shortly before his diagnosis and I'm sure lots of people down there regret some of their less than supportive comments. Watching Sky Sports here in the US their byline referenced ALAN Kennedy-which was unforgiveably sloppy. RIP RAY.

Paisley moving him from attack to midfield was a masterstroke. Kennedy's ability to seamlessly adapt is a hallmark of his football intelligence.
RIP.

He was a truly great player who did everything with such ease and grace, I’m not sure but didn’t he do the double, double with Arsenal and Liverpool ? I know he won all the trophies that it was possible for a player to win in England and Europe. How he fought against his illness was a true inspiration for many other sufferers and the heroes who care for them, he will be sorely missed but never forgotten, thanks Ray.

He actually had Parkinsons and played quite a few games with it towards the end of his career before it was diagnosed. Respect! I presume that the Parkinsons cut short his life by a good few years because he died aged 70 which is no age at all - even I am 5 years older than that.

Most things are confusing to be fair. Always seemed a decent fella. Lovely player
