Promotion should not be ruled out as a goal by all. Aim for the highest and accept what you get in life - same applies

My favourite subject. Have we had a single peep out of anyone on the board this season? I guess we are down to 2 with TS through the exit door and PC at home with his horlicks. You must've been punching the air when PC came out with 'what's all the fuss about', Gods? Thank god, finally we've heard from the board and they've allayed all our fears, the only way is up! Ha! Well think the moment is here for JC to pad up and come to the wicket and see if he can go any better!

Top 10 I would have thought, injuries or not.

I think the board would take top 10 quite happily and only get jittery if we in the mix for relegation. The board took on O'Neill with a long term plan in mind that involved completely clearing the decks next summer and challenging for promotion in 2022/23 and 2023/24 with a completely revamped squad. If we get in the playoffs this season I think it will be viewed as being ahead of schedule and if anything a bit of an over achievement. For me the fundamental difference is that those in charge of the club have realised we are just another Championship side with dreams of promotion and not a Premiership side somehow struggling to fulfill their rightful destiny. They are doing the right thing by the club in being financially responsible and patient rather than jeopardizing the long term future of the club by buying promotion rather than earning it. A voice of reason, that will never do on here with some.

Not even sure they want promotion. I think they're more comfortable with this level to devolp players and profit from player trading. We seemed to have placed a bet on Premier League finances collapsing before we were relegated when despite £100M+ turnover we failed to produce a budget for player aquisition. We certainly spent hardly anything over and above the Arnautovic money and non of it on replacing him who'd been our primary creative spark and goal threat for a couple of seasons.
