Hardly a surprise. At least the ref actually handed some the opposition on Saturday, although it could have been many more

If the tackle on Vrancic at Bristol City had been by one of our players on one of theirs we all know what the outcome would have been......

There are fouls/tackles being done in the Prem that are being yellow carded in the Championship. Work that one out. Refs are supposed to have been told to be more lenient. Let the game flow.

A manager worth his salt would be moaning in the press about this

Doesn't surprise me. I wonder if there are any stats for how many have been given to us and our opponents for time wasting. At least Saturday's ref dished some of those out to Blackburn and I credit him for not sending Davies off. Some referees would have been quick to dish out a red to us there. I think we still suffer from Wenger's and MOTD's focusing on our dirty play and crowd influence under Pulis.

How many for frivolous crap (eg clucas mardarsary), rather than actual tackles? I think Sawyers got one at the weekend for standing near someone menacingly. The ref obviously hadn't seen much of him or he'd have know he doesn't make challenges.

No game-flow in this league allowed. Most of the refs are attention-seekers blinded by an old stereotype. In this last match - it was weird seeing the OTHER team get cards and us actually getting away with a couple! But "normal programming" was quickly resumed - they ensured that the critical call went against us.
When I'm angry, I wish we'd just embrace the stereotype and become a swarming pack of sadistic gangsters. Recruit from prisons, hoist a pirate flag and wreak havoc. It's clearly who the league wants us to be.
But then I calm down and realize: It's just the Age of the Whiner. (Sponsored by people like Arsene Wenger) 1) Stoke has never cared about what the league wanted us to be. 2) Assembling psychos in large groups is no longer allowed outside of politics & the media. 3) Journalists are arrogant & lazy, clinging to bias and old stereotypes instead of doing research and learning something. 4) Refs believe what they see/hear from the media. 5) The stereotype was never accurate. We wanted it more than other teams. Other teams couldn't admit that to their fans, instead whining that we pushed them down on the playground and stole their lunch money.

A manager worth his salt would be moaning in the press about this No he wouldn't he would be making the point in a mature and sensible way to the appropriate authority, ranting in public merely attracts more problems.

I'd love to see a league table based on results following an International break.
Surely we'd be propping that fucker up

How many for frivolous crap (eg clucas mardarsary), rather than actual tackles? This is a great point. So many times players booked near the end of games for time wasting. It would be better if the yellow cards were broken down so we could get a more accurate picture.

I wouldn't be surprised if about 2/3 have been accrued in the last month or so. We seem to have had at least 3 or 4 cards a game since Blackpool. We have gone from being soft to extremely cynical, with a huge dose of awful refereeing also thrown in.

The refs always seem not just quicker to card our players but almost eager …we never seemed to take the piss, time wasting or rolling about on the floor when an opposition player touched you shirt, going down like there was a sniper in the crowd…. But when you get it done to you game after game refs do nothing to stop it, so you we may as well do it .have to say though I don’t like seeing it…I particularly hate the diving and rolling around…then 2 mins later “a miracle” the player is back up and running about cured “praise be”…
