Just staggering for this level and worrying
how low can it get?
That was really low quality, ability to play simple passes gone AWOL, no composure whatsoever.
Our 'best' player on the ball was probably Danny Baath today!

Lack of energy, Vrancic and Sawyers both 30+. And a lack of a defensive midfielder to cover for their mistakes/provide cover for the back line.
If O’Neill was braver he’d have started Wilmot in midfield. Fox, Baath, Chester as the back line. Allows Tymon to play the entire game on the left.
The disjointed midfield was a huge cause of the loss today.

Agree on the Batth part.
I'd be tempted to use him upfront as he was more of a threat than any of our strikers today.
Plus I always thought Batth have eyes for goal and he knows where the back of the net is at everytime he in the opponent's penalty area.

Should have left Tymon at WB, played Fox in Chester’s place, Leo in Wilmotts position and let Wilmott play has a DM.

Think that’s the worst we’ve played this season. Brown and campbell didn’t work up front. Sawyers shouldn’t play another game for us, his only benefit has been his skill on the ball as he does nothing off it. And his skill on the ball has become none existent recently.
Fox isn’t a wing back and should only play in a back 4. The less said about Chester the better…
Thought vrancic and tymon played reasonably well. Tymon got better once he moved out wide.
I’d be tempted to see how we play in a 4-3-3 with campbell and ince either side of fletcher as I thought ince looked well up for it when he came on.

We need 2-3 midfielders who can keep possession, tackle it back and defend unlike Sawyers, Vrancic and Allen. If we persist with 2 of the three mentioned to the left in any match we lose. Plodding weaklings. We missed Thompson's grit today.

It’s just so boring as well having a tonne of players with no technical ability.
So boring and so dejecting.

It’s just so boring as well having a tonne of players with no technical ability. So boring and so dejecting. We've become the Wales and Irish international dumping ground for players nobody wants. Allen, Chester, Fox, Davies. Not surprised the technical ability is lacking. We must have the worst loss of possession stats in the Football league with these types as starters.

It’s just so boring as well having a tonne of players with no technical ability. So boring and so dejecting. The lack of quality depth like last season seems to be emerging this season too. But injuries are hurting us because we can’t rotate. I also think we have to ditch the back three four now until January and we can get players in who can allow to build better and more quickly from the back. We just can’t play Batth and Chester together every week - it hasn’t and doesn’t work.

Could you imagine this lot getting us promoted,we would need to buy 16 players just to avoid coming back down with the lowest points ever.

I don't think going 4-4-2 is the answer yet but our players need to be able to adapt during games as required. big issue and reflects MONS mentality around football in general. its like he still is managing an international squad versus a league squad (adopting a tactical style that works well once every 2 months for a certain group of players)....

No movement off the ball whatsoever. The centre backs had ball at their feet and no one moving into space. Every ball pretty much played direct to feet with player closely marked and back to goal. Doesnt help when it just seems to bounce off certain players either!

More than anything, we were out fought. Vrancic looked exhausted. It's unquestionable that he has bundles of technical ability, but he's not suited to being a battler, nor can he make it through three games in a row.
Can't wait for Thompson to return. Sawyers and Vrancic should be fighting each other for a spot, not playing alongside each other.

Agree , it’s not just lack of technique in individuals - we tend to focus on individuals but it’s just not feasible that every player we sign or develop has less technical ability than players we see in other teams every week. For me it’s team technique that is lacking, as you say. Movement , finding space , creating angles, running for each other. Too many times our players receive the ball under pressure, and why do we try to pass through defenders ? We’ve seen it in patches so it can be done.

Vrancic battles more than most, he’s not the quickest or strongest but he’s committed & gives it his all.
