Football gets more crazy everyday. Taken two teams up before would seem more than qualified to get another up. They were a poor premiership side so we're unlikely to return straight away. Money saving exercise, get a cheap replacement in.

Didn't they sack Heckingbottom at the end of last season as not being the man to take them forward? Now give him a 4 1/2 year deal lol. Basket case owners.

Should've just stuck with Jokanovic. His team's always start slowly

Strange appointment. Smacks of doing things on the cheap....... I think the general feeling is that Slav ruffled too many feathers behind the scenes, confronted the Chairman when the money for the new signings didn't materialise, got pissed off with players and has been replaced by a Yes man and a cheaper option. Always tough job for a Owl to win over a Blade.

What happened post relegation? Did they splurge their parachute money on expensive flops or keep their former Prem side? (Either way, it clearly hasn't worked out).

They kept together a team completely low on confidence and tried to play a system the players clearly aren't up to playing. Take away Gibbs-White from their starting XI and they are about as slow as pedestrian as we generally were under Rowett and Jones.........

But the rot definitely started with some terrible buys in the Prem by Wilder and the manager losing the dressing room (sound familiar?) Wilder may be a good coach but he did not know a good fit for that level and spunked a decent budget on players who are now struggling at Championship level (sound familiar?) Then they get a new manager in, make him loads of promises and don't keep them.

That said, there was uproar when they appointed Danny Wilson (weds playing legend) a few years ago

It was indeed a disaster everyone except those who made it saw coming from day one , no one had ever been able to explain how you go from negotiating QSF terms in Spain , to be one of the best paid premier league managers to Paul Lambert in 4 days

Which has several connotations. None of them good.

Which has several connotations. None of them good. That explains why we didn't give him the job, fine. However if plan A was QSF it appears we skipped plans B to F went to Martin O'Neil who said no and we then went to plan Y with Lambert. Given we had apparently had a chat with Ranieri at the end of the previous season when we should have (but didn't) sacked Hughes the club should have had a list of possible managers, can't accept that Lambert was the best possible option. Smacks of ineptitude.
