With Allen now added to the list of unavailable players - assuming that there isn't some funny rule about waiting a week before the suspension is applied - who can play in midfield on Saturday? The realistic options are:
Vrancic Tymon (if Doughty is fit enough to start at wing back) Sawyers
The left-field crazy options in order of craziness are:
Jacob Brown playing in the Mama role ahead of two deeper midfielders, with Fletcher and Campbell up front.
Hoping that Ben Wilmot can do a job in there despite the complete lack of evidence that he can.
Hoping that some as yet unknown youth team superstar can have a go.
Sticking James Chester in and hoping for the best.
Recalling Peter Etebo (we are now in very silly ideas).
Playing a different system.
For reference, Allen, Clucas, Thompson, Oakley-Boothe (I think), Surridge, Sima, Souttar and Bursik are all unavailable.

Etebo is out injured for a while I think?
Is there definitely no chance of Thompson or Clucas being back? We're probably just about in Wilmot territory if so, despite his professional career as a DM being dramatically overstated by some on here.

Not sure what the plan should be, but I’d keep Doughty out of the starting line up, as he’s so far off the pace. Saturday is not the game to throw him in from the start.

His decision making was poor last night but I actually thought he looked sharp in terms of his acceleration. Whether he could last 90 minutes is another debate though.....

I'd make one change... put Wilmot in as the defensive midfielder. He can defend and he also likes marauding up the field given half a chance. No need to do anything else. The side last night created enough chances to win half a dozen games even though some on here have crucified a couple of the players.

For me it’s pretty obvious. You go with a 4-3-3 or similar formation made up of ……………….Davies Smith…ostigard…. Batth….. Fox
Sawyers…..Vrancic……Tymon
Campbell….Fletcher……Brown/Doughty

Loads of time to fix this.
Plan A. Has anyone got a friend/relative who can play centre mid?
Plan B. Someone from the youth team/Ben Wilmot
Plan C: Michael O’Neill

You have to worry what future TOB has at the club after not even making the bench last night.

In my opinion Tymon in midfield should be the last option. I am strongly in favour of not tinkering with the rest of the team when someone is unavailable. By moving Tymon you weaken the left side as well as the midfield. I would play Wilmot there as he knows how to defend. The only other option is to play Fox or Wilmot at left wing back so Tymon can fill in in midfield. I honestly can't think of any other option if Clucas and Thompson are unavailable which didn't seem likely before the Bristol game.

Would seem to be the most likely line up. I don't really like seeing Sawyers and Vrantic together but part of that is Allen making the 3, so maybe Wilmot can give the energy and drive we need to allow the other 2 to create,

Think we will see Ty back, also Doughty has to start seeing minutes, once up to speed he will be an asset. God knows who sits at DM!

I don't care who is in the midfield. I'm just glad Joe Allen won't be a part of it for the first time in a long while. We might actually keep possession.

Think we will see Ty back, also Doughty has to start seeing minutes, once up to speed he will be an asset. God knows who sits at DM!As suggested a few posts above maybe Wilmot is the answer. He is a defender and he has (on a few occasions) played DM at his previous club. Certainly, we won't know if he can play DM unless we give him the opportunity and Allen's suspension seems the obvious time to do so. If MON can play Wilmot as a wing back (which he has done) then surely he can risk him at DM?
