Lovely sport! One of my absolute favourites.
Sweden have started bad. Women 2 wins, 2 losses. Men 2 wins, 1 loss.. They lead vs Switzerland atm though.
Unfortunately TV only shows 25-50% of the games.

Jerry Curls were popular here back in the day.

Always looked funny to me. Who are the good teams? Sweden won the World Champs for Men in both 2018, 2019 and 2021. In 2018 and 2019 they beat Canada in the Final. In 2021 they beat Scotland. The tournament was canceled in 2020. The Swedish Women took silver in the World Champs in both 2018 and 2019. Canada won it in 2018 and Switzerland in 2019. Sweden Men won the Euro Champs in 2017 and 2019, Scotland 2018. In fact, Sweden have won 5 of the last 6 Euro Champs. Sweden Women have won the Euro Champs in 2018 and 2019. Scotland in 2017. Historically, I think Canada is top of the Medal League, both genders, with Sweden next. Curling was invented in Scotland more than 500 years ago, was spread to Canada and the US and the rest of Europe. I don't think Africa or South America have any teams.

It's been my experience where you find a curling club there will be a bar within with some high level of inebriation among the members. I tried curling once back in the early 90s with some friends who curled often (small American mid-west town excitement). It is very much harder than it looks and you most definitely need a flexible set of legs and back. It was fun and like golf, it is very humbling. I do like watching it during the Olympics, but it is an acquired taste.

Sweden Men have come back from a bad start. Now second in the table with 5 wins and 1 loss. Scotland in the lead.
Sweden Women have come back a bit as well and now have 4 wins and 2 losses. Scotland in the lead here as well.
No games on TV. I also have a norwegian tv channel, but no matches there either even though it takes place in Lillehammer, Norway.

Sweden women won vs Germany by just one stone and met Russia in the semi and won by just one stone again! Class.
In the final we'll have Scotland or Germany.
Tomorrow Sweden Men meet Italy in the semi at 9 a.m.
Could be two finals involving Sweden.
And Swedish TV don't show it ... šµ

I don't get it. Sweden must be one of the weirdest nations in the world. We're actually one of the absolutely best countries in the world in curling. But what happens then? š¤ They're showing the Women final on a minor tv channel. But the shock is what they just said ... they're not showing the Men final between Scotland and Sweden 5 p.m on TV. Instead they've picked Sweden vs Slovakia in the Women Euro Champs group stage 1st game in floorball ... š¤£ First game! Totally pointless.

I thought they were joking, but it's actually true! They're not showing the FINAL we've all been waiting for here. Instead they're showing a pointless, useless game of floorball. 10-0 or something at half time ...

Hi Musik. Iām a bit confuse. Are Scotland also in the floorball tournament? I don't know about that, but Scotland won against Sweden in the Finals today, both men and women finals. Swedish TV didn't show the Men's final. It's upsetting! I have nothing against floorball, even if Curling is more fun. And above all, a Euro Champs Final in any sport is more worthy tv time.

Both finals were not shown live in the UK either, that with a UK nation in both finals too. Very little media interest here in Scotland's deserved victories, maybe that will change during the forthcoming Winter Olympics when these same teams morph from representing Scotland to be Great Britain as they will be one of the few medal hopes for Britain at those games.
