Its a good point but by 1971-72 Peter Dobing's days as a forward were well behind him from my memory. He's an example of a player who changed his game quite considerably over his career as he lost his pace. Wonderful footballer. Anyway, the fact is no-one did chip in, Ritchie and Greenhoff took on the role from start to finish. Your memory serves you well Spit. Looking at Dobing scoring stats he scored 20+ regularly in 5 seasons at Blackburn and was well into double figures for majority of seasons up to 68-69 when his scoring suddenly fell away to single figures. This probably coincided with the arrival of King Jimmy from Birmingham and a change of role for Dobing. 238 career goals!...prolific in his earlier years especially.

Great player with a rocket shot (Didn't he came second to Lorimer in hardest shot comp.) I think he broke Banks' wrist in training with a shot. Never forget his goals against Leeds. What a night that was.
