Even without deductions Rooney has fewer points than MON, 43 v 49. Agreed but as a comparison the playing staff MON has to what Rooney has is vastly significant if drawing a comparison between their seasons. Rooney has been selecting from a Dads Army style squad majority of the season whereas MON's had a far superior squad to work with. Being only 3pts ahead (deducted points aside) isn't a great comparison/achievement if you ask me, infact quite the opposite! To me it shows how well Rooneys done in comparison to MON. & I'm not in any way suggesting Rooney would of earnt more points than MON has with this same squad, but I'd have at a guess he would of done. Perhaps Rooney has performed better in a no win situation when he's been fighting issues on and off the pitch, time will tell on how good a manager he actually is.

Even without deductions Rooney has fewer points than MON, 43 v 49. Rooney has 46, 3 less. Given they started pre season with 13 players, have been unable to sign anyone and we knicked their centre back that played nearly every game up to January I'm not sure I'd be getting the open top bus out.

Even without deductions Rooney has fewer points than MON, 43 v 49. Three fewer actually. Which is nothing to crow about given that Derby are a cobbled together ragtail and bobtail outfit who can't spend any money and MON spent £3m on two players who he ended up moving on after a matter of months

Rooney to Stoke🤣🤣we have some deluded fuckers on here I think that's a bit over the top calling it deluded, CP. I know you're following every step of the Derby situation, but it's not as if he's a young Guardiola. His Derby record is impressive, but it's a backs-to-the-wall job where expectations are low and he's firefighting and motivating a group to overachieve. I'd say he's the type of big name sparkplug a decent Champ club would take a chance on at this stage. I wouldn't think any Prem club is going to touch him. He didn't turn down Everton - just an interview for a job he knew he wouldn't get. I think he could well be grateful for any reasonable Championship job come June the way things are going.

There's so much competition for Prem jobs, and I don't think there'd be a clamour for him at that level I don't think he's done enough, but I could well be wrong (I normally am!)

I read a report on Rooney by rio ferdinand. He said he went to watch a training session at Derby, and that is was the best training session he'd seen put on.
High praise. You just never know if he's a mad moment waiting around the corner for him

You just never know if he's a mad moment waiting around the corner for him I take everything Rio says about a former club/team mate with a pinch of salt. There may be some truth in it but more likely, he was just surprised he didn't come across like a bumbling idiot.

Palace, Leeds, Everton, Brentford, Brighton Villa and Newcastle will all stick. Leaves Leicester or Southampton? I'm terms of the Championship we'd have as good a chance as anyone you'd think, we're 45 mins from his home and you get backed from the board up to the point of no return. Manager of Stoke is a decent job.

Webber can't be written off as a dummy though surely, he worked miracles at Huddersfield and then Norwich? He's just lived long enough to see himself become the villain, like everyone in football does at some point. If we were to bring in Webber (and let's just remind ourselves that's not been reported in Nursey's article and is fanciful speculation on our part), we'd need to understand why it went wrong last summer when everything had gone right for him previously. Were the right players not available this time? Did Webber's scouting department fuck up with the name they presented? Did they have improper succession planning to mitigate the loss of Buendia and Skipp? This is the kind of due diligence that would need to be asked of him at interview. A good DoF and Head of Scouting need to be completely in tune with the manager's preferred style. If the manager is a 4-2-3-1 kind of man, the recruitment policy needs to be defined around those tactics. Not presenting players to Farke that he is then forced into shoehorning into a formation that he's not familiar with him.

Yeah it would need to be a collaboration, which by most accounts it was at Norwich, I don’t think Farke had players inflicted on him. Players who fit the style were very much the focus when they signed the likes of Buendia and Pukki. Where things have gone wrong this season is an interesting one, would like to know how he/they have got it so wrong.

Is it the external threat that is motivating his players or Rooney’s leadership. At the moment no one knows so would a Prem club take a punt? I have my doubts about his leadership but it would be intriguing to see him trying to sort out our squad. I suppose the paper have linked us as he is still based in North West and we are close geographically.

This season, out of Farke's 11 Premier League games, the only time he played a 4-2-3-1 was the one game he actually won (his last match in charge against Brentford). They lost Skipp and Buendia in the summer, and replaced them with players who didn't suit Farke's system. That's on both Webber for recruiting poorly, and Farke for approving them. Hopefully they'd both accept those mistakes and make sure it didn't happen again. I would take Farke today if he wanted the job with or without Webber, but if we only got Farke I'd be just a bit cautious that's all.

Yeah to be fair I think Farke had slightly more input than just approving, he was part of the process there but they clearly got it badly wrong. I share the concern about brining Farke in without having the structure in place here that he had there.

You’d have to compare how MON performed in equally dire circumstances albeit without quite the same level of restraints. Answer much better than he’s performing now. Simply having to win to stand a chance of avoiding the drop brings a more offensive tactics and game plans. IMO MON is under normal circumstances a manager who puts more emphasis on not losing than he does on winning. Some fans like that mindset, I’m not one of them.

Not sure what the hell is going on, this emergency replacement phrase being banded about is odd, is MON maybe going to take a sabbatical for some reason?. If they want to replace him, why wait to the summer, Farke isn't going to hang around until then, on the off chance we may or may not be interested?. There certainly seems to be something brewing..
