I guess it varies doesn’t it actually. I’m talking generally here and not about MON so don’t bring that into it because I do think that adds an emotivness into it that I do think clouds judgement. You have some that won’t say a bad word because it’s against the manager and they know best. Even when it’s clearly not good. And then you have it when they’re clearly doing a bad job and have been for months but people will stick with them. Even when it’s dire. For example with Jones. There were loads willing to give him that little bit more time. I don’t get it. More context on where I look at managers from which may help explain how I am - I think their disposable at the end of the day. I probably dont see them as an actual person. Although with MON I do and I like that person but I toss that aside. I can be hasty with it but I tend to have zero emotional attachment to them. Whereas a lot of people love them like they love the club. And I get that as they are a big part of it but they’re also not? In the sense they are so transient, so disposable etc. I find the whole mentality around it fascinating tbh. I’m very much once they’re past their sell by date, get rid sort of person and I get that’s not so popular. But I also think getting an emotional attachment with these entities is odd given that they could be gone as soon as soon as they come. I guess I find comfort that I can be so throwaway a bit like a farmer not naming his animals so he doesn’t get attached. Anyway I’ve rambled there but I find it interesting! As a dairy farmer I can assure you that we do get attached to our animals and pedigree animals are all given names. When you have 700 milking cows they have to be given numbers for management reasons. That will teach you to ramble. Dairy farmers do get attached to their animals, in more ways than one ! Locked into its spot in the milking parlour and armed with his three legged stool no cow is safe.

it was a joke, im pretty sure he offered up another poster on here for a fight in front of the statue of Sir Stan and it has become a legend of the oatcake, its a shame it got so vile between him and craps as sometimes it was quite entertaining, in fact one of his last posts here was this board is so right wing im disgusted your all racists!!! Well not all, but he had a point and he generally stood on the correct and decent side of it as far as I'm concerned. Surprised admin didn't erase the posts concerned as they seem to like doing that kind of thing. Thanks for the info btw 👍

Dairy cows can live to 20 years and so obviously you get attached. You can also get attached to beef animals that are slaughtered at 18 months, it's an occupational hazard. All you can do is give them a good life whilst they are with you. I was always taught to look after your animals and they will look after you. Just to tell you my position... most farmers do a brilliant job and not for a moment would I class them as psychopathic. I would say they're hardened to reality, which just happens to have an unpleasant ending for some of their creatures. My comments were directed at the 'Joe Soaps' of this world, like myself, who try not to think where their luvverly lamb chop comes from, but if I'm forced to watch the process of preparing it, I'd be a bit sick. Having said that, as a kid from a very poor family, I used to snare cute little bunny rabbits and found nothing nicer than a rabbit pie and veg, including taters stolen from folk like you. Now back to where Suffolk Stokie has gone. I sincerely hope he's not Soylent Green. And while we're on the subject of missing posters, where has Mr Daftburger gone to these days? If you're out there, Daftbugger, wave a handy across the ethernet and let us know you haven't popped your clogs. OS. We stopped eating lamb in the spring as there’s a field next to us that’s used for raising lambs, really cute.

It isn't the same as raising for beef but it's not all fluffy unicorns either. You can't milk a unicorn for a start You can give one a reacharound though providing you do enough PCP...

Are you still in Stoke or are you eating bird's nest soup on a regular basis? I've been worried to death about you, you daft sod. Still here - thanks for the concern - but dairy cows??? We dont have them in Suffolk. But my uncle farmed them near Alsager - how the hell can a post go from where is Sufolk to an argument about caring for cows? My Aunty and Uncle cried every time by the way, but we still shot wood pigeon and rabbits for the pot = make of that what you will
I posted a few away game summaries because friends asked me to update them and then suggested I posted on the Oatcake as well. Nice to hear some liked them
In lockdown there seemed little point as they were streamed and I guess I just got out of the habit (I can here many saying thank the Lord for that).
Bayern I still follow through thick and thinner even after 50+ years
Tony Scholes eh?

So is it just Sal we need to find now we've discovered the three musketeers; Suffolk, FM and Daftbugger are okay? I'm hoping she's eating a beef butty sandwich whilst feeding future veal with pottersrule.

For the life of me I can’t understand why anything posted on here would remotely bother me, in one ear and out of the other comes to mind. Now the wife’s constant talking is annoying.. 100% It wouldn't occur to me in a million years to leave this place because of what someone said. I mean you get all variants of opinion, the latest news and every rumour going, what not to like? It's not simply "because of what someone said"... the constant negativity on here is absolutely draining. I left for a good while cos it just becomes unbearable. Yes, people are entitled to their opinions, yes people will have different opinions and different views on how the game should be played and what we should or shouldn't be doing on the pitch, but when a good majority of what you have to contend with on here is just pure negativity and often maliciousness, it's just not worth filling your head with by coming on and reading .
