Why are we the only team in the league thick enough to not do it.
Any player with any experience and brain cell would, after their first goal, go down pretending to hold your leg or anything to stop the game and kill any momentum and re group.
Even going back to mark Hughes, he even used to ask for it from his team.

At 3-2, the manager should have been directing our game management. Get players to receive treatment for that little niggle. Slow it down. Throw a sub on. We’ve seen plenty of other clubs do it.
Do something!!!! He just stood there.

Tbf he needs to cut out us playing stupid suicidal back passes when under little to no pressure. That’s not game management that’s just wank football

Same at Sheffield. Fletcher and Surridge stripped off and waiting on the touchline for ages, and then they equalise.

That’s not game management that’s just wank football I'd rather see us punt the ball up for throw Ins deep in there half and pen them in rather than the shit the defence play around doing. We've been shit at game management for years and it's only got worse under Mon and his wrong subs at wrong times

management you say. interesting. Whether it comes from the manager or a player, someone should do it soon as they score the first. Take 5 minutes if need be lying on the floor

I'm sure I saw Campbell being lined up to come just prior to their first goal, he then got sat back down again! That was a perfect opportunity to make a change, break the play up & shout some instructions on coz at 3-1 the game could & should of still been safe.
Not making a change at this point let Cardiff motor forward at every opportunity & the initiative was firmly with them! To little to late again from MON for me! Getting a regular talking point sadly isn't it?!

But I agree Campbell should have come on after their first.

I have been complaining about his lack of leadership for a while and this was a prime example.

I'm on the other side so can't see any of that.

From MON's post-match interview:
"I told them at half-time that if they could get a third, they could go on to win the game by four or five"
That's a very telling comment about the attitude in the 2nd half, and not one I'd be rushing to admit to having made.

Many fans have bemoaned us not going on to win games by 4 or 5 in the past, so you can't win either way on that basis. It was a crazy 5 minutes that cost us the game, not really something O'Neill said at halftime. Hindsight, eh.

Of course it’s hindsight but he basically told them if they got one more they’d have the game sewn up. They got it in the first minute and then look what happened, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to speculate that they got complacent with those words so fresh in their minds

I don't like reading too much into snippets. We don't know what was said for the other 14 minutes of the half.
