John Fogerty made a song called "Nobody's here anymore". It's about the modern digital world, computers and stuff. Everyone is stuck into those things and doesn't communicate in a normal way.
I thought about something else when considering the words "Nobody's ... here ... anymore".
Have you ever met a person, looked into the eyes and thought there's nobody in there, there is no soul, it has kind of ... escaped.
It happened yesterday and it has happened one time ago a few years back.
Q: what has happened with these people? Is it only a visual thing? Does it have a medical name?

I've heard that described as "the lights are on but there's nobody home".

Christ that's deep for a Tuesday. Not sure there's a name for it but reminds me of the people with buttons for eyes in the film "Coraline" I have to check that out!

I've heard that described as "the lights are on but there's nobody home". or even "The Lights are out, and there's nobody home". I saw it in a rap artist yesterday and I have seen it in a journalist a few years back. An injury?

I saw it in a rap artist yesterday and I have seen it in a journalist a few years back. An injury? Oh yeah for sure. The rapper and the journo probably sold their souls to big corporations lol. Hey that is possible too you know, injury. For example people with Parkinson's sometimes can look very deadpan because they lose control of all the muscles that animate the face, so its difficult for them to smile or be expressive with their eyes, etc. The emotion is still there but you have to be very attentive to read it sometimes. Edit: just saw your later comment... yeah could deffo be a brain damage. The example I mentioned, Parkinson's, is technically a brain damage, because its caused by the brain stopping production of dopamine.

Boxers, former fighters, drug users, criminals in prison long time sentences on TV10 swe. Like they're ... gone.

It seems like a spiritual disconnect too sometimes, like they lost heart.
