Leeds 0 Stoke 4
As a West Yorks Stokie probably my favourite ever away game
Hendrie on fire, great goals from Griff and Ric and a penalty save from Simmo to boot!
Start of an upturn in form of a season that promised a lot but fell just short

Thank Hudsongod for that result
His planned red card protest jolted the club into action and the likes of Hendrie, Diao, Delap etc arriving was the rewards for him and us
Of course many will disagree 😊

Hendrie wasnt with us long but he was a joy to watch. Couple of weeks later we destroyed Norwich 5-0 and he was at the centre of it all

RF10 off the bench to slot one top corner 😍 I remember losing 4-0 at Leeds in the early 90's, so it was a bit of karma

I used to love watching Danny Higginbotham. Had a mate who was the image of Danny. Although he was a Baggies fan, and stunk to high-Heaven. Nickname of, 'Honky'. Wonder what happened to him.

Hudsongod….a legend in his own lunch break. He left the mb after receiving threats to him and his family for some of his anti-Islamic rhetoric. He made a brief reincarnation as waiting4waddo but left after a spat with Mumf when they were meant to meet by Stanley Matthews statue to sort out a "disagreement". Them pair were great entertainment especially mumf when he wasn’t banned for some indiscretion or other.

Start of an upturn in form of a season that promised a lot but fell just short Was at that game with my son and with then living 9 miles from Leeds that has to be my best away game. Me and my son still talk about that game and it was the result that gave us a spring board to get to the prem. happy days

Very strange decision. Not one of their players appealed!

Hendrie was the catalyst for the glory years that followed.
A very inspired signing and had we not made that signing things could have been oh so different.

Superb away day that was and fantastic performance. Simmo was brilliant for us. One of the saddest parts of our promotion for me was that he suffered that dreadful loss of form which culminated in us bringing in Nash to see us over the line for promotion. I was always a little sad that he missed out on being on the pitch for the big day given his contributions up to that point.
Even in a 4-0 win, Simmo produced some big saves that helped towards the end result.

You're right, l think they had played together at Bristol Rovers?
For some reason l bring to mind Lee Hendrie whenever l see Jack Grealish.
It had been a long while since we'd seen the kind of excuberant skill that Hendrie could bring to a football match.
And then came Ric.

One of those 'state of the game' decisions that would never be given at 0-0, similar to those refereeing decisions which vary according to where they are on the pitch!

Thank Hudsongod for that result His planned red card protest jolted the club into action and the likes of Hendrie, Diao, Delap etc arriving was the rewards for him and us Of course many will disagree 😊 Surely you're not saying that the club would happily have trudged on with Brammer, Sweeney and Russell as regular starters - as had been the case up to that point - if it hadn't been for the aborted protest? Or that the signings of Fuller, Hendrie, Diao and Delap were initiated and wrapped up in a few days once it hit the headlines?
