I have a friend in the States who is not big on ‘soccer’ but curious about my love for Stoke. I think posting that article to her will do the trick.

Smashing article. I wish more journo's did their research properly and wrote stuff like that.

What a brilliant read. Call me a bit of a softy but I had tears in my eyes at points in the article. It resonates and such a pro Stoke article which is so refreshing to read!

Was the article an opportunity to name-check Man Utd or was it about driving up and down the M6?
(Only joking - it's a good read and pretty fair)

Can we nick the Walsall song for big H? Obviously MON is a great manager but DH seems to have made a real difference as has Alex Aldridge in recruitment great work from all involved

I've seen this posted all over the place and finally got round to reading it... the content is great but - maybe this is just me - the bloke's writing style is completely unreadable. It's all staccato one-clause sentences (or not even sentences in a few cases) punctuated almost at random by drab factual details like "the teams come out onto the pitch" and the minutiae of the conditions on the M6. The most readable bits were the direct quotes from the interviewees... The lights cut out on the dashboard. So did the engine. Road closed. Stoke steadied and survived. Last season, they improved. This season? He's seen it all. He's been a hero and a zero. Had this, had that. Smith started watching Stoke age 6.I dunno if he's trying to add drama or something but it reads like a telegram written by somebody on the autism spectrum. Anyway yeah apart from that I liked it

Did enjoy reading it. Copiously padded with bits of "fluff" everywhere but hell I enjoy reading anything that mentions Stoke.
