Didn’t even realise this was a thing? Only when it suits the FA’s agenda

Didn’t even realise this was a thing? It was definitely a dive but I’ve never known the EFL do this🤔

Surridge better watch out. Both his pens had questionable all over them when you see the replays.

What does this actually mean?
Surely an offence that merits a yellow card at the time is not one that merits a ban in retrospect? That would make no sense at all.

It’s the only way to cut out the diving. Just weird that some Coventry random is the first in living memory to have dived in a match…

Didn’t this happen in a game we were involved in a few years back? Thinking it was a West Ham player Lanzini ?

There are so many fine lines when it comes to diving though. Surridge’s v Barnsley was a “dive” as he went to ground without receiving contact. But then you could argue he dived out of the way of inevitable contact to prevent a collision, which means it isn’t a dive yet still a foul?
There are some clearer instances though. I’m thinking of a few times where players have squared up and then one goes down holding their face despite no headbutt. Affelay flicked his wrist at a WBA player when we were still in the premiership and the guy went down like he’d been stabbed in the face.
I just don’t trust people in power when it comes to deciding where the lines are.

Yep Lanzini was banned for 2 games retrospectively, for his dive for a penalty which was given and converted. Didn't really help us much. This law was introduced in 2017 Interestingly only 2 Prem players have been retrospectively banned in the last 4 seasons and both in the first few weeks the law was introduced!!! Then it's like it never happened!
