Our passing is much crisper than it used to be, our off the ball movement is much improved and the players look much more comfortable on the ball. You can tell a lot of work has been done on the training ground. At least we are creating chances now, even if we miss most of them. We need to be more clinical in front of goal and neither keeper looks totally convincing but after the struggles of the last few years, it is nice to actually enjoy watching Stoke again.

After the penalty miss I just thought that it’s going to end up 1-0 to West Brom. Just felt like it was going to another one of those games where it doesn’t go in. However we managed to keep going and stand up to a couple of the long throws & eventually get the winner.
Thought we showed a great mentality & togetherness.
We should’ve been 3-0 up by the time the goal actually went in, but in a strange he way it was a brilliant way to win a game. Disallowed goal, missed penalty, 2 missed sitters. It just made it a great night & at the end made up think that something special could happen this season.

Fire the manager, he's useless and clueless, one week. Buzzing the next. Why don't you try, I don't know, actually SUPPORTING the team? I support my team through thick and thin so I’m aloud to criticise if I see it differently from you You can do what you like, as can I. I think you are a troll and anti-support who can only criticise and never praise. You are allowed to use correct grammar as well.

Interesting to note that supporters/managers of Preston and West Brom think that we were the best team that they have played so far this season. I thought the atmosphere and performance last night was terrific - especially the defence.

I didn’t last night, we played very well and deserved the 3pts but my opinion was Brown was poor and is a poor player. I’m not going to say he was brilliant when he wasn’t. It’s like saying Dave Bamber was prolific. I think you understand!!

Something happened tonight far greater than the 3 points I believe - I saw the team realise that we are genuine contenders in this league. The reaction at the end from the team was a realisation that with this support they are good enough to be in the mix this time. They also saw for the first time the affect that a noisy home crowd can give to them, and the part that we can play. They felt that 12th man tonight, and many of those players haven’t felt that before. They realised that connection tonight. Before tonight I feel many of the team and supporters thought we hadn’t the ability to match teams like West Brom. We were a Nearly team. We totally bossed that match and everyone saw it and now I think they realise we have the quality required. The switch was turned on tonight. No longer a Nearly team. We can be top 2 and I think the players know that now. WE ARE BACK Yes but we need to do it every week. No team does it every week. How well we will do will almost certainly depend on who is fit.

Get rid of brown and replace him with Campbell and we will be a force to be reckoned with Brown will have his time and place through the season. We have a crackung squad now. A few weaknesses but theres some formation flexibility and, thankfully, the midfield seems to be coming together.

What is most encouraging is that we are better able to cope with injuries than last season. Also, altho' we had different players out against Preston and WBA, both thought that we were the best team that they had played. Brown and Surridge both need a bit of GYM work to strengthen them. I wouldn't write them off just yet.

We desperately need to improve our away form if we are to get anywhere. Seems to be a symptom of our inabilty to take chances, hopefully if Campbell returns anything like he was before this should improve. Maybe Sima up front in away games if he ever plays again.

I just watched the highlights after being at the Manics gig last night (and managing to avoid the score). And I felt the same - after hitting the woodwork twice and missing a penalty, then going on to win, plus the crowd noise. It was the Newcastle League Cup home tie in 2007/8 that made me feel the Premier League was a reality for the first time, and while I was optimistic when we got relegated and optimistic last season (I think we would've made the playoffs if it wasn't for all the injuries), this season feels different now.
There's still a long way to go though!

What a win - a great weekend!!! Going into YET ANOTHER international... interruption, a win like this builds the confidence that this team needs.
It's a long slog and there isn't very much difference between most of these teams. Obviously, we're good enough to compete with any of these teams, but we need things to keep bouncing our way.
So I pray we don't get anyone hurt on international duty...again and that we suffer no detrimental momentum loss...again. I guess I don't hate international football. But between the daft scheduling and history regarding the welfare of our players, to me it's just another risk.
So fine, let's just get this stupid shit over with and get back to what pays the bills.
The Blades on Saturday October 16th at Bramall Lane.

This lack of consistency talk is a strange one. On the one hand yes it was disappointing to lose at Derby and not to beat Preston and Barnsley. On the other hand we are one point short from averaging two points a game after eleven games which on the face of it is always regarded as a very consistent team doing enough to get promotion and usually to finish top

Amazing really given the value of the squad now, to the value of the squad after Rowett had a shopping spree. I think you’re confusing value with price😉

The midfield balance tonight was spot on. Having Vrancic & Powell in the same team is a massive plus and we can only hope they stay fit for the majority of the season.

We can be top 2 and I think the players know that now. WE ARE BACK Yes but we need to do it every week. There isn’t a team in this league that can perform at the top of their game, every week over a 46 game season - especially in a league as competitive as the Championship. It just doesn’t happen. There will be plenty of slip ups, and that’s ok as long as we can bounce back and keep grinding out some results when we inevitably hit a couple of bad patches. We’ve already seen this season that we’re capable of grinding out results when we’re not playing well, and we’ve also seen some superb performances like last night, and away at Swansea. We’re almost a quarter way into the season, and the only real disaster of a performance was at Derby. If we can maintain the type of form we’ve seen in the first eleven games over the entire season, we’ll comfortably make the play-offs. If we can improve it slightly, we’ll be in with a decent shout of taking one of the automatic spots. You don’t need to be at the top of your game every single week to win this division.

Those 2 factors along with the 3rd major positive ingredient of a committed and professional management team combined and ramped up the atmosphere in a positive feedback reaction. Brilliant stuff!

I think you’re confusing value with price😉 Not really, I pay for a ferrari I expect a level of performance, 2 years later I buy a dacha sandero and it more than out performs, I say well done Datcha The difference is we now seem to have a manager and transfer team looking to make shrewd signings to address specific areas of the squad and fit into our preferred tactical system. Before we had a string of managers signing anyone that our transfer team led by that fat fucking fraud could dredge up from his version of Football Manager 2006.
