I agree him and Thompson have been incredible today very impressed with the whole team but these two are usually whipping boys and tonight they shone fair play to them this is what a full squad needs.

Wilmot wasn’t brilliant!! you must be joking!!!..... they never got anything out of our defence tonight. There only remote threat was their throw ins which were all managed perfectly by that back 3.

I don’t see how Chester gets a game ahead of match fit Leo. However, the defending was good today.

All three were very good imho. I'd have Chester at top defender tonight with Souttar than Wilmot third and that is only because they seemed to target Chester's side over Wilmots.

He has “that” mistake in him at times, but in games where it doesn’t happen he’s just solid. There’s a reason we so often keep clean sheets with him in the defence. His experience and constant talking must be such a benefit to Tymon and Souttar.

When that ball fell between his feet at the death and he paused, looked down and decided left foot to touch. that is when he got motm for me. He removed that mistake you mention he always has, right there.

The defense was incredible tonight. Best part of the team by far. For 3 defenders to have a higher percentage of completed passing than the 4 midfield and 2 wingbacks is something and that was only the passing!

Really good tonight.
I think he talks all the way through the game and that definitely helps Souttar and Wilmott.
He’s not the best defender at the club but he’s part of the best defensive line up.

He was very good tonight. West Brom didn’t target him which helped but when he did have an header to win, he won it. And there was one point where he made two cracking blocks. Played really well tonight. Thought Wilmot had his best game in a while too.

He has years of experience and tonight he played with his head, well and truly engaged and in gear. No stupid passes no wandering out of position. He also looked like he cared. MON has built a good spirit here. I think Michael sees something in Ostigard that he doesn't quite trust, Wilmot is better on the right so in comes Chester. Well done manager and James.

It had nothing to do with Ostigard the reason why Chester is playing is because we needed a left footer as Wilmot was not seeing Tymon quick enough because he is right footed so his view was not focused on the left and that was hindering us, no other reason

He grew into the game, first 20 he sat off when he was isolated instead of closing down but couldn't fault him apart from that. I'd say soutts and Wilmot were better though, soutts didnt give hugil a touch all game, he always seems have a good game against us as well.

The thing about Chester is that despite all the criticism he gets ( and some of it is deserved) he has been involved in a lot of clean sheets in the last couple of years, so he must have some quality.

Everyone of them played that well I can't even pick a man of the match tonight Indeed , walking to the game we got talking about MOM awards ..so often it’s given to the goal scorer .. our common thought was in a team game that’s often ingenious towards other players and often some of the best individual ‘team’ performances go unseen or at least partly unrecognised of course there’ll always be favourite players and those that catch the obvious eye ..but it’s a team game and whilst there was some very fine individual performances last night , the net result was it produced a very fine commanding team performance all over the pitch including by Chester
