Sweden-Spain World Cup qualification
HT 1-1
FT 2-1
Well deserved victory. They were running all the time. Never seen such high pressure from a swedish team before.
No Berg, Larsson, Lustig, Zlatan. Instead younger fresh players. Mobility.

It was indeed. An excellent performance all round, and potentially the best pair of Swedish strikers since when Berg and Toivenen were in their heyday.

Didnt they say on ITV, first loss in qualification since 1993?. Wow if true.
Yep 1993, a 66 game run.

L Enrique gave the finger to a spanish supporter in the crowd who told him to go home!
Fines probably.
First side news here, of course

Brilliant result, unless you’re Spanish of course

Some weird results going around recently. Armenia top of a qualifying group after 4 games too?

So for context- Graham Taylor was England manager and Kurt Cobain had one year left to live last time Spain lost a WC qualifier 😲

Didnt they say on ITV, first loss in qualification since 1993?. Wow if true. Yep 1993, a 66 game run. First world cup qualifier loss since 1993. Northern Ireland beat them in 2006 in euros qualifier. They've probably lost to other teams in euro qualifiers since then too I imagine.
