I must have imagined his crucial goals in the Euros (after his admittedly slow start) Joint with Lineker for most goals scored in competitive matches. Must be crap. Terrible start to the Euros, then did what he always does. Scored goals. Will be interesting to know who will step up to take his place. Greenwood is supposed to be a good finisher, but I’ve only watched him a few times, wasn’t overly impressed and it looks like he won’t get much game time for Utd now. Did he get 3 in the end?

ON paper we should walk this, but we all know that means fuck all. Hungary are a very dogged team, and at home with a full crowd and no England fans (officially anyway) it's going to be a tough game.
Still going for 0:3 mind, with Grealish to grab his first.

Four in 649 mins according to Euro 2020 webpage. That’s a better than 1 in 2 ratio. It’s the problem with Kane. Even when he plays badly (and he wasn’t great at all in the Euro’s), I wouldn’t bet on anyone outscoring him routinely. What we really need is for Mount to get closer to him and make runs in behind. Kane plays deep too much, but it’s only a MAJOR problem when players around him don’t use the space he does inevitably create by pulling defenders out of position.

I’m not sure anyone would beat him individually but I think the team would score more. Kane needs to stay up front and stay out of the way of the midfielders. It’s congested in there anyway and he just makes it worse. He takes the space Mount wants.

He didn’t just score a lot of goals last year for Spurs, he made a ridiculous number of assists given the goals scored as well. At 28, he’s not leaving the lineup for a few years unless his form dies following this debacle over the summer. I’ve never been impressed by Rashford at international. That leaves Greenwood, who I don’t particularly like either, or Calvert-Lewin as the more obvious picks to switch him for. I just don’t see them scoring that often at this level. If we make Grealish one of the three then we have to have a striker that will finish the chances as Grealish isn’t a regular scorer and we can’t just rely on Sterling (in my opinion).

Sterling, Foden and Grealish etc need to do the same too which makes me think the problem isn’t then. He gets in their way. Greenwood or a false 9 imo is the way forward. With a real hope that Delap can come into the mix within 2 years too.

Rice proved himself well in the Euros. He's lots better than I thought he was. thing is though he's actually decent in the attacking 3rd. I'll always remember while 1-0 up in the final the game opening up for him to have a shot and instead of trying score he stopped and passed backwards. I wondered if we had a fear of winning. There were a few times he strode forwards and just looked lost/out of his comfort area when he got too far up the pitch. I like Rice though, a very good footballer but needs someone like Bellingham alongside him who is more complete. And Phillips did well in the Euros on the whole but he’s too defensive on the whole to be played with another more defence minded player. Declan Rice is actually our best player. People just haven't realised this yet

2/5 for an England win seems stingy to say the least here. Think this will be a tough game.

I bet there's some fans in this country, like Palace, studying this Hungarian crowd rather than the match to see if they can copy some of this shit shouting and drumming 🙄
