He’d be an outstanding signing,I remember watching Slavia Prague in their Europa League run last season and he was one of the standout players especially against Leicester away

We could certainly do with somebody coming in to take some of the pressure of expectation off of Tyrese when he imminently returns ( hopefully 🤞 ).

One bloke on twitter Surely there would be more noise than that? One bloke who’s an employee of his former club in fairness. And how much noise was there when we signed Ostigard, Wilmott and Vrancic, not a peep until the day it was happening really……

Brighton are closing in on the signing of Senegal international forward Abdallah Sima from Slavia Prague.
The Athletic understands they are poised to purchase the 20-year-old for around £7 million.
Sima is seen by the club as a long-term prospect, rather than an immediate option for head coach Graham Potter in the Premier League.
He has shot to prominence with Prague since they signed him from FC Taborsko in the Czech Republic's third tier last summer.
Sima scored 15 goals in 32 appearances in his debut campaign. He was on target against Leicester in the last 32 of the Europa League and featured in both legs against Glasgow Rangers in the last 16 before Prague were knocked out by Arsenal in the quarter-finals.
Prague need to sell Sima, who hasn't scored in six appearances so far this season, for financial reasons following their exit from the Champions League qualifying stages against Ferencvaros.
He has also been linked with West Ham after they signed Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal from Prague.
Where will he fit in at Brighton? Sima is the latest example of one of the strands of Brighton's recruitment strategy.
They scour markets globally for young players with raw potential, availability at relatively low prices, who they can develop either to play in the first team or be sold on at a profit.
Sima isn't Premier League ready but he could be exciting for the future.
What kind of player is he? Potter has lots of multi-dimensional players in his squad, able to operate in different positions.
Sima falls into that category. Although he is 6ft 2ins tall and good in the air, he has not always operated as a No.9 at Prague.
He can play anywhere across the front line and has often been used on the right-wing.
What does the future hold for him at Brighton? The plan is to loan Sima out to aid his development. Brighton have taken this route with several young players, either loaning them out immediately or a few months further down the line.
That has been the case with Polish pair Jakub Moder and Michal Karbownik, Argentinian Alexis Mac Allister and Swiss prospect Andi Zeqiri.

Interesting if we get another player on loan from Brighton.
Wonder if it’s just GP doing his old club a favour or if he just seems Stoke as a good place for his players to develop?

Whilst I welcome any signings it’s a sad state of affairs where we’re loaning players from teams that we should be playing/competing against, in addition scouting exciting players ourselves rather than being bone idol and paying tens of millions for players like Vokes, etc, etc, etc and lining the pockets of the Burnleys.

Sounds abit like a Football Manager potential transfer to me!
So a Senegalise lad who plays in Prague is about to sign for Premier League Brighton on the South Coast. & sure he'll then be paraded out on the pitch with shirt & scarf etc. But the same day he signs for them he'll be whisked up north to Stoke to sign for them on a loan basis! & again will be paraded around wearing the new tops at the training ground as has been customary lately!
Unless a lot of work has already gone on behind the scenes in the last few days/weeks this does seem to be alot of work to get through in the remaining hours of transfer deadline day.
I mean where is the poor lad going to be living for a start?! Does he seek accommodation in Brighton up north?!
Not saying this deal isn't a potential as does seem some genuine links to it happening, but does seem alot of what, ifs and maybes as its currently looking.

Plenty of footballers pads available in Prestbury/Alderley Edge on a short term rental, don't worry he'd be absolutely fine.......

Can I be the one to ask the daft question - if he’s that good why aren’t Brighton wanting him for this season ? They are doing ok but far from being secure in their PL status. They seem to be in the business of buying and developing young players, whether they intend for them to make the first team or just to develop them and sell them on for a profit. If he's only going to play a handful of games at Brighton then he's better off on loan at a Championship club where he can expect 25+ games and build up his experience and confidence.
