17 shots to 2 away from home. Nothing less than an evening of shooting practice.
Anyone know what kind of a Birmingham side it was? I took a look but to be honest it didn't help, I'd never heard of any of them!

Birmingham made 10 changes too - just keeping the goalie in from the weekend.
The League Cup certainly is a strange beast these days

The League Cup certainly is a strange beast these days So all we can really conclude is that Fulham's 2nd string 11 is about x8 better than Birmingham's !? I guess that might count for something as injuries and suspensions and loss of form and exhaustion kick in.

Fulham’s 2nd 11 would probably finish in the top 6.
Their squad is frightening.

I hate going in to an international break on the back of a defeat so let's hope we can somehow come away from Craven Cottage with at least a draw and the show goes on. I'd happily donate a minor limb for a victory!

I’d take a point at Fulham, don’t want to go into the break on the back of a dicking and risk ruining our good start.

We were the better side last time we went there, last Christmas time I think it was, losing to a spawny goal. Nowt to fear, they may just be fearing us you know........

If we want to win promotion we need to give them a game.
They need to know there is another capable team in this division.

Well now we know that Fulham’s second string is better than Birmingham’s then. Nothing more than that.
They’re clearly one of the better sides in the division but this is the Championship and anyone can beat anyone on their day. Play the way we have been and we’ve got a good chance of a positive result.

Offer me a point against Fulham now, and I'll snap ya hand off.... However, we're also playing well, so a win would be fantastic!!!

But is a good development tool and that’s why I think the rules should be there to make sure at least 3 starters have been at the club for 3 years before their 23rd birthday or something. It at least serves a purpose then in the English game.

If we want to win promotion we need to give them a game. They need to know there is another capable team in this division. This is exactly correct. It gets in their heads. Reputation begins in games like this.

If we want to win promotion we need to give them a game. They need to know there is another capable team in this division. If we don’t do well, we’ll still have 40 odd more games to impress. Realistically, we need to try and be in the playoffs at least for when Campbell returns fully (not just as bit part). Unless we get thrashed by Fulham, I wouldn’t be that worried, even then it still isn’t the end of the road at this point.

We want them to sit back against us and play for the draw as we now have players capable of unlocking packed defences.

I’d say it’s just much harder to play against a team that sits back all game. We only had a few clear cut chances versus Forest, for example. I also find the games a lot less exciting to watch.

I think with the way our defence is set up and performing that nobody is going to give us a dicking.Maybe early days but the defence looks solid. As previously stated I would also take a draw now but there is no reason why we cannot win. GGOOAAARRNN STOKE

I am hopeful going to Fulham due to their manager. Despite both getting thrashed tonight I would be more wary of Bournemouth and to a lesser degree Birmingham.

I'm hoping we dont fall into the full park the bus and wait for their first goal default mode.
We shouldn't be bothered about anyone. It bloody Fulham that's all not man City.
Just keep miss ya bitch quiet and cause them some problems

I took a look but to be honest it didn't help, I'd never heard of any of them! 12 of which were off target - shooting practice definitely required. Saturday will be a good test. If we win great, doesn't mean we are going to walk the league. In the same way a defeat won't be the end of the world

A win Saturday won't win us the league no...
But look at the league table at who is in first. Everybody is talking Fulham up for a reason - they are currently a potent team who could get 100 points unless something changes. That train needs slowing down NOW not after they've gotten 60 points. Fulham's message is that they intend to dominate - time to send our own message. Otherwise we're just leaving it in their hands, gambling that the annual "Fulham Fade" will occur again late in this season.
We won't play them again until late January. Give them a scare or beat them outright. Plant seeds of doubt in their heads which will spread around this league. If we want teams dreading to play us, picking on the team in first is the best place to start. That's all I want - for us to be seriously competitive, build momentum/confidence in our team no matter who we're playing.
We need to get after them from the first whistle.
