Don't post a right lot but this has to be said after today's game.
We rocked that place today in some parts of the match, especially right before we scored. Was sat in block 32 today in the family stand and when the boothen end get involved with the chanting with block 36, I've not heard it that loud since the first seasons in the Prem.
We made them lads run their socks off today, especially tymon who looks like a totally different player. They all look like they want to play for their shirts. Hats off to all involved and long may it continue. Boothen end, pull ye fingers outšš
Any objections bringing my bringing my drum to the next home game?š¤£

I thought the atmosphere was a bit lame tbh.
The boothen didnāt make a noise until the second half, apart from a few at the back of block 19.
The south stand try their best but there arenāt enough of them.
The boothen end needs to up itās game.
What happened to the ultras movement in the corner, did covid kill it off?

The south stand is the new boothen end. Feels like more of a lively away crowd whenever Iāve been in there. I think the boothen end suffers because a lot of the people who set up shop in there when we moved ground almost a quarter of a century ago have obv got older, so if it was still a terraced end Iām sure a lot of people wouldāve migrated to seated parts of the ground. Not saying that to be ageist as a criticism btw, itās just a fact. It really needs to become a terrace again but god knows if thatāll ever happen. I remember thinking standing would return āwithin 5 yearsā way back in 2004. Iām in my 30s now and if it does ever return Iāll prob be at least close to 40, and I canāt say the idea excites me like it did when I was a teenager. Canāt help but feel a bit robbed of an exciting part of football life, being young and standing on terraces with your mates. My knees creak now.

Terraces were the perfect scapegoat for cages / gross negligence / nazi Tory-ethos police forces. If you remove any one of those 3 factors, hillsborough wouldnāt have happened. Iām not saying changes werenāt necessary because grounds were dilapidated and dangerous, but itās over 30 years since hillsborough and technology has moved on to the point where you could have traditional style terraces be perfectly safe. They have them in Germany after all. Shit, one of their grounds has a terrace with close to the entire capacity of the Brit!

Surely thatās got to be better for everyone.

I think the atmosphere wasn't helped in the first half by the fact people were still filtering in up until the 10th - 15th minute.
Goes to show that all the fans don't read the site / Twitter as they announced about there being traffic problems / turnstile problems and to get to the ground earlier.
Once everyone had settled etc by the second half it was rocking, and so much fun to be in amongst!
God I missed it!

It was ok but I think the game didnāt help.
We didnāt come to life really until about the 60/65th and I donāt think we played well tbh.
But the things I was impressed with:
1) the team despite us not breaking them down kept going with the passing and it didnāt stop them from doing it. Massive credit to the players for not resorting to just lumping it when we could have done.
2) the fans patience. Usually when we keep the ball and do nothing with it (like a lot of yesterday) people start groaning. But it didnāt happen. It was great. The only annoying bit from the Boothen was when Souttar had loads of time on the ball and there were oohs and arghs when he had it totally under control š

The atmosphere was dreadful 1st half and weāre running a sweep near us for how long it takes away fans to come up with āYour support is fuckin shitā or ā is this a libraryā Reading was 9 minutes(yes Readingš®) Forest 20 odd minutes Thereās no doubt the bearpit atmosphere has not been there since the prem days and itās gradually got worse with a few exceptions.I have to say in that 20 minute period of dominance and attack after attack the Boothen sounded like the old days and it was brilliant to hear and long may it continue because otherwise our ground bereft of atmosphere.

Like you say I donāt think there are many grounds now where the home support is loud and itās mainly away fans that make and start the noise/singing. That spell yesterday got the crowd up and long may it continue

What I notice most is that in almost every Premier league game the huge amount of fans standing at the two ends at certain clubs.
Also happens at our place in the away end and a lot of the time when I travel. Is it just me?

Yeah it's a good observation, south stand is quite moody once your in the thick of it, reminds me of junction/fluid for moddyness late 90s, however I don't know how it sounds to the rest of the ground. As you say alot of the boothen lot are getting on, begs the question then are the youngens still being attracted to football??

I honestly can't remember the last time I sat down at a game. Probably about 15 years ago.

If we can't be arsed to fill the stadium with football like this it's time to watch netball! I did notice though that we had the second highest Championship crowd yesterday, so perhaps a few more weeks of this we'll get there!

You have to stand to give it full vocals. Ask boyzone and westlife when they get to their main chorus to get off their chairs š
