How did that show? Decent enough pass to Clucas near the end. Which should have been left for Fletcher before it got there but he took too many touches. We were watching a completely different passage of play. He did brilliant with two players on his back to put it nicely in the path of Clucas who completely fluffed it. You have some strange views at times, way too harsh on players who don’t deserve it and you give far too much credit for some players who have bang average performances.

Really isn’t. Anything that required thought he messed up. Great header and worked hard but didn’t win any/many flick one, didn’t link the play and just didn’t do much. But no one did. Surridge was worse. He did link the play, they both played well second half but fed on scraps first half. I'm not 100% convinced you watch the games - honestly - or if you do you make your mind up after fifteen minutes

Really decent performance from Brown with only 2 or 3 proper comedy moments. He was certainly the more effective forward of the starting 2. Then Fletcher comes on and he still looks our best option leading the line. Campbell and Sima to come, I'll take that any day. 2 decent looking option at LWB, loads of midfield options though IMO non of them make a great blend. Smashing young back 3, doesn't young Leo look so up for it and so pumped by the results. The lad could go on to become a club legend, shame he's not ours. Good performance, great interaction with the fans, the lad just looks so genuine.

We had one genuine shot on target. Fletcher did more in his 15 minutes than the other two combined in open play.

Great header but he’s not a footballer and it showed. You simply are not a stoke fan. You get no joy or satisfaction from us winning. You revel only in negativity and trying to enforce your nonsense views on people. You're an absolute scurge on this message board Quote of the season so far

You make some great points but we just have different expectations I think.

He's not the most exciting player we have but he's pretty decent and he is improving, I'd say.. however, more importantly, MoN clearly rates Brown, plus he's putting a few in That'll do for me as things currently stand

I didn't go to the game but flipped on to the BBC at 85 minutes and we were leading 2-1 with 1 shot on target to 3 on target for Huddersfield.
The total shot count at that moment was 3 from us and 11 from Huddersfield.
I appreciate that's far from the whole picture but it tells a story of a kind.
Anyway I'm thrilled with the win.

Yes and no, they had a few very speculative efforts that register as shots, yet first half we had two crosses flash across the box that were an inch away from getting the required touch from Surridge and Brown. They obviously don’t count as shots but were real good opportunities so it doesn’t tell the whole story. They had very few clear cut chances, one header that should have been buried, a free kick that flashed wide and a couple of routine saves that Bursik palmed away……

Winning alone doesn’t give me satisfaction no and I’ve said that before. I want to watch good football and think so far this season we’ve done that enough. Today that didn’t happen. It was poor. But as ever because we won that must mean we played well. Which is a nonsense thought.

Was the header for them the one from a corner? Where they had 4 lined up and somehow fucked it up?

How fast is Brown really? Thought Sarr outpaced him withot any trouble at all this afternoon. First five yards are in the head I was always told. I was actually impressed with Sarr for the most part today. He stands out all the time given his size, but I had felt last year that he was a bit of a weak link for them on the occasional time I had watched Huddersfield. This season he has shown glimpses of the potential a second generation footballer should have.

We didn’t attack well, we didn’t create much and attacking wise it was a game to forget.

Still winning whilst playing poorly at this stage of the season is a good sign as far as I'm concerened. Many teams drop points whilst their squad is gelling - Fulham aside we,'re not.

It is for sure. And that goes without saying. I still would like to think people could be objective though. Brown scored a tremendous header and deserves credit for it. The rest of his play leaves a lot to be desired. But the exciting bit is we have some good players waiting in the wings to freshen IMO an area where we’ve struggled this season.
