I think what we were missing today was a hungry DM player winning balls and snapping at heels, we need to move heaven and earth to get a good one in, it could be the difference between mid table and top 6

I thought we caused a lot of our own problems today, the trying to play out from the back should have been mixed up more as they tried to close us down and we make tones of mistakes because of It.

Clucas and Allen completely outshone by woods.

Clucas and Allen completely outshone by woods. That takes some doing.

Missed him massively, there wasn't one brain cell amongst our midfield five. Powell had an off day, the others, well. Never like seeing Clucas and Tymon on the same pitch they just get in each others way, Allen had an Allen game and Smith wasn't too bad offensively but his defensive positioning is not good. Thompson isn't the answer either if you are looking to finish in the top six. Vranic and A N other needed.

Without a doubt Our corners and dead ball situations were abysmal without his pinpoint accuracy.

Without a doubt Our corners and dead ball situations were abysmal without his pinpoint accuracy. They were garbage. But why didn’t we take Clucas off them?

Sounds like he’ll miss Tuesday as well judging by O’Neill’s comments after, slight hamstring issue

Yes. Lacked composure in midfield today. Not helped by possibly Powell's worst performance in a Stoke shirt.

Let's not beat about the bush, our midfield 3, Allen, Clucas and Powell were all very poor today. Powell, for me, has credit in the bank but Clucas and Allen have been consistently poor and neither merits a place in my book. I'd honestly be happier if neither were here come the close of the transfer window. Unfortunately Thompson isn't any better, which shows where our problems really sit. Our need for quality new blood in the middle of the park even out trumps our need for better on the right side of the pitch (and that's pretty desperate).

Thompson isn't the answer either if you are looking to finish in the top six. Vranic and A N other needed. Totally this. Our defence looks brutal and we have lots of good options up front. But that midfield 5 is so weak barring Powell who just had an off day. Tymon is doing the basics well but doesnt have the courage to take his man on Clucas couldnt pass water, he was the clear weak link Allen gets involved as he always does but hes never a holding midfielder Smith is really doing well going forward but average in defence. If he gets injured who do we play there? We need a DCM and a RWB. Clucas, Allen and Tymon should not be starting games P.S. rest of the team looks rock solid

Not really. We played the same game at St Andrews that we have done for the last twenty years. It was a decent point, I expect little more there. We always nullify eachother.

We missed a midfield, I'm not sure one CM signing will do it tbh.

Yes we certainly missed Mario, similar to how we miss Ty.
Joe offers little to the team and Clucas is beginning to show his default standard of play is not good enough.
Frustrating thing today was defence is really, really looking the part; put a proper destroyer in front of this defence and players like Vrancic and Powell can let rip. Joe and Clucas kept giving the ball away and the defence mopped up for them. Our defence can give our attacking players more reassurance and freedom to damage opposition but it ain't gonna happen with Joe, Clucas or Jordan.
For me, if we get this destroyer and Powell and Vrancic stay fit we are gonna be there or thereabouts. Especially if Ty returns to form. Otherwise we will be top 10 at best.
I just hope Vrancic doesn't have a stop-start season like Fletch did last season.

I have thought from the start we won’t see much of him.
Norwich fans loved him but were the first to admit he has no stamina.
Last twenty minutes of games is his role.

Powell had no positive influence on the game whatsoever, so from a creative point of view our midfield was completely non existent. Defensive midfield was the least of our worries today. This not to say that we don't need one longer term, because it's pretty evident that we do, but just disagree that it was our issue today.

Powell did have a quiet game, one pass in particular he made though was sweetly waited to set up a chance for a cross. I thought though we missed a dean whitehead type player or dare I say it a Geoff cameron in there, there wasn't a presence for a competitive battle. Allen was getting bullied a lot and clucas is just a steady player. I'm not sure vrancic and Powell together against their central midfield today would have fared much better
