Living where i do and outside Radio Stoke coverage it was a godsend,i am no longer able to attend through ill health. Sorry to hear that Skem. Are you with out any way of listening to the commentary then at the moment? I’d be happy to point you in the direction of an internet link when they are shared before the game or similar, if that’s any help? Thanks for the offer,i pay for the audio stream and upgrade to the video as and when available, pandemic had a upside for me meaning i could pay a tenner and sit back in leather recliner with a few cans of cider,no 2 hrs. drive no frozen nuts and no risk of being covered in some morons beer flung in the air.

I disagree it’s sinister. I think it’s daft from a business POV but it’s the way it is. If Graham McGarry wasn't the head of sport there would assume it was simply not thinking things through I would assume they’re doing more for the fans who have the harder chance of going the game 🤷♂️

If you download the Radio Garden app on your phone, you can listen to the FM broadcast.

Perhaps I used the word sinister incorrectly. I still think that the only chance Stoke will get to be heard on Freeview is when they are the only team playing on that day, even then I would feel they are reluctant to put it on Freeview in case Stoke City supporters living outside the FM range suddenly get used to listening to their team again. Crewe playing away with a minority of the listening audience Crewe fans should not be a justified reason to put their game on both DAB and Freeview at the expense of thousands of SFC supporters living out of the reach of the FM coverage. I believe there are more Liverpool and Man U supporters living in Crewe than actual Crewe fans, otherwise why is their average attendance around 4000. Crewe, has a population of 75K whereas Stoke has 256K not including Staffs Moorlands that has a huge SCFC following. I still estimate 40K supporters are being disregarded when it comes to allocating the match coverage. I think it's about time they gave Crewe their own frequency.

Just to reiterate:
Medium wave has now been closed down so crewe now are only on freeview.
FM : Stoke
DAB : Vale
Freeview : Crewe
Radio Stoke's remit is to cover North Staffordshire and South Cheshire so if Crewe did not use freeview they wouldn't have any coverage at all.
