Hes a quality player. I'm not sure why anyone is surpised. Class act. We're lucky to have him. The last 5 years suggests otherwise.

Bet you would have been quick off the mark with a slagging if he hadn't. No I didn’t watch it and as I’ve said 2 billion times.....pre season friendlies mean fuck all. Like literally nothing. You got that wrong! It is the results that don't matter! Only an idiot would think that individual player performance does not matter!

And unfortunately for the rest of us, we’ve had to read it 2 billion times. Can’t wait for the three billionth time …

Only an idiot would think that individual player performance does not matter! Not really. It’s completely irrelevant. Brown went scoring a hat trick to missing an open goal. It didn’t mean shit. We’ve all seen us have good pre seasons and players look good and then when the real thing started they’ve been crap. It’s a total irrelevance. The season is a rollercoaster anyway but then you have folk bigging up pre season. And if we lose to Wigan you’ll have people who think we’re certainties to go down. It’s all irrelevant bollocks.

Souttar was easily the best CB in pre season last season and it took the games in the cup to get him in the side.

Looking forward to the season with a reborn Joe Allen.
It's staggering how many can be fooled by handful of practice matches.

Looking forward to the season with a reborn Joe Allen. It's staggering how many can be fooled by handful of practice matches. Don't think anyone has been fooled by anything but realise it can work with a player who has played a lot more than a few practice matches and has proven he can play there multiple times over the years. Be good to have him back fully fit after a lengthy injury and full pre season.

I certainly remember most preseasons being "really good" only to not translate into the season. Hope I'm proven wrong this time.
They aren't carrying the niggles from panicked defenders hacking at their legs all season. No extended fatigue or pulled muscles yet etc. etc. No pressure, just figure out how you want to move, try a new dribble etc. But it's still good to see it giving people a good workout.

It's guaranteed that some lunatic on here will claim 'Joe isn't the same since his injury' before 10 games into the season. Guaranteed.
