£2m was the fee Birmingham City paid for Sam Cosgrove from Aberdeen & some on here were touting him as a nailed on signing at one point.
0 goals in 12x bit part performances for Blues and then 2 goals in 17 games on loan at Shrewsbury Town has shown Blues have wasted £2mil.

I don’t think people were overly touting him just that it seemed that MON really rated him and I think we were priced out. Which is worrying.

What did we spend on super Sam Surridge? £5.5m was thrown around at one point but looks like it was more like £2.5m. He has 2 from 18 in the Championship before MON gave up on him like he does with most of his signings, normally very wisely it must said!

Us being linked and just what was being said. There was no chance at the time he was sold though that we would pay that sort of money for him. We were priced out. And then bought another crap striker for lots of money 6 months later.

I would say a possibility Surridge will play a major part yet. Getting a ban didn't help to be fair. Has he given up on most of his signings? Brown he's worked with and he's considerably improved, Thompson also before injury.

Like you say Thompson and Brown look improved as has Tymon I’d say.

Obviously worked on parts of his game and a transformed player

Be great if he does but just doesn't look like he has any of the attributes that a good striker needs ie pace & power, better to have both but he seems to have neither which is a problem.

Obviously worked on parts of his game and a transformed player I think it was more the loan to Shrewsbury because even under Jones in the reserves he was doing stuff he wasn’t doing before. Jones just wouldn’t pick him for some strange reason.

So your basing it on the square root of fuck all😉 No. I think it’s based on a lot of speculation that was continued over time and from people on here who get told stuff too. It was clear we were very interested and totally priced out of a move thankfully. MoN’s eye for a player is pretty bad based on his transfers to date so it would fit with that too.

To be honest I’ve not seen enough to make a call yet. He’s young still but I’d hoped we’d signed him to play but perhaps Brown has shown more in training/matches. I hope he gets some game time and develops, but wouldn’t want our current incumbents dropping…
