bit of fun
3 questions I set l for a roll over at a quiz a few weeks back. You had to get all 3 to win the Jackpot of £120. No one did. no need to Google just a bit of fun to see if anyone could get all 3, Number 1 not too difficult
1 What is Rugby's Calcutta Cup made from?
2 Who was the last English born male athlete to win the 100m gold at the Summer Olympics
3 who were the first British football club to compete in a European competition ? (Not including friendlies etc)

Bugger! I knew Christie was Jamaican born so I was confident Wells was correct. I totally forgot he was Scottish which is daft because I heard him interviewed on TV and he had quite a broad accent. Everton was a guess.

Well done Eddy Clamp with the missing answer
1 What is Rugby's Calcutta Cup made from? Rupees
2 Who was the last English born male athlete to win the 100m gold at the Summer Olympics Harold Abrahams
3 who were the first British football club to compete in a European competition ? (Not including friendlies etc) Hibs
Obviously not many of you have seen Chariots of Fire. Alan Wells and Linford Christie not born in England. Scotland and Jamaica, will leave you guess which is which.

Not being a Rugby fan I didn't know the rupees one myself but an interesting story and had read before way back . The 100metres one used many times before as Christie often the answer for many. I always remember Alan Wells wife screaming in a broad Scottish accent as a kid during the 100m final. She sounded like a Banhsee who had sat on a rampant rabbit.
