Funny but it's shit, isn't it?
And the reason I'll always hate VAR.
I've always been very cautious about celebrating anything since Sol Campbell's goal against Argentina in France 98 made me look a total cock
With VAR, I can't see why you'd celebrate anything!

Totally agree FM and it takes all the spontaneity out of the celebration

Can't enjoy it myself. There's plenty of those bullets with Stoke's name on them somewhere down the line.

Living in the South I am delighted that Chelsea and their Super League ambition did not win. No we must remember that a real owner of a club wants to invest locally to the community. That I believe is what our owners do and long may it continue.
Leicester winning gives hope to all others to be a benchmark to what can be achieved.
Yes I remember with great pride our FA cup final 10 years ago and still feel very privileged and lucky to have been there.

VAR will be the ruination of football as we know, turning it into a sterile computer game!
Goal line assistance is the only technology that should be used fuck the rest of it off, where does it end!!!!!

It robbed us of another 30 mins of an enjoyable game.
Watched it several times and you could justifiably argue it’s On Side or Off Side. ⚓️

They're trying to introduce decisions to a level of accuracy that doesn't exist because of the precision of the technology.
Chelsea's player was offside by what, an inch? A fingernail? Roll it back one frame, bearing in mind that they will only be recording at no more than 24 or 30 fps, and he would have been on and the ball would still have been in contact with the player's foot. You can't make those sorts of decisions without also scrutinising the moment the ball leaves the foot.
It also removes skill from the game. How can a striker time a run perfectly knowing that if he points to where he wants the ball played he'll probably be offside? There's no way you can judge the margin, so it's a guessing match. Likewise, a linesman could never make such a fine judgement accurately. If he'd given that offside in the days before VAR he would have had Tuchel criticising him in the press and hate mail delivered to his home.
Take a leaf out of cricket's book. Use VAR to overturn clear errors in black and white situations. You could have 'linesman's call', where the decision of the linesman stands if the player has a hand offside but is otherwise level.
I don't think it should be used at all otherwise without major reform. Take the decision to award a penalty away from the referee and leave it to a captain appeal. If it's a dive, the player receives a red card and a penalty is awarded to the opposition. If it's a clear foul with no exagerrated contact, a penalty is awarded.

Not a fan of Leicester (quelle surprise) nor Chelski, so I wasn't that bothered about who won, or how, but VAR is absolutely shite in the way it is applied. "Clear and obvious" was the mantra. That was neither clear, nor obvious. The players feet were level and it was only the direction of travel, and leaning, that put any gap between them. Chilwell's momentum meant his head was forward, whilst the Leicester defender was still moving out.
Awful decision, and no way to decide an FA Cup Final.
To be honest I was surprised that VAR allowed the Leicester goal after the handball incident in the build up...that would have been just as ridiculous, but would sum up VAR in its present form
Sort it...or ditch it!

VAR is shite, but if I was celebrating a 89th minute equaliser, my 1st thought wouldn't be whipping my phone out anyway.
