Could someone from outside make a massive investment into the club. How about the Coates family put about 100m into my bank account, I'll then approach the club and make a 95m offer into the club as an investment and sponsorship, and I can pocket the other 5m for my troubles? 😁 Sounds like the kind of thing the current UK government does. If true it’s becoming farcical. We are at least trying to not breach that’s obvious. If we do get a points deduction we might as well have spent silly on decent players rather than looking at loans and freebies.

The sponsorship from owners can't account for more than 30% of a club's revenue, Didn't PSG try that one with Neymar? Which is a joke, so our owners can sponsor man utd with a shirt deal of 300million, but can't do the same deal for Stoke. I could go on all day about FFP and there rules been a massive joke. Many that go against common sense. For a team that's got money in times like this and not been able to invest into the sport is a crime in its self. If allowed we could buy off a club like Bury or Macclesfield (but ffp rules maybe not allowing us) now they are not around. FFP keeps the football prymid as it is, the top at the top and the bottom fuc,,,,,, Doesn't make sense that the owners can't put their own money into their own football club. Nonsense really.

How did Derby get round 32Red or whoever it is paying Fat Larry's wages then? I think it's because he was player manager. The managerial part attracted the money not the player bit. Make all the bomb squad coaches and tell them to fuck off on a course for a year.

What's worse, we could be in a position to sell our best young players to please FFP,someone like Campbell or Collins. So a Premier league club come in and get them cheap. ( keeping top clubs at the top). Mean while because we made a few bad investments we cant sell them because we would make a loss in terms of FFP. But it's not a loss its money in our bank and no wages to pay, but FFP doesn't work like that. Like I say i could go on all day,,,,

In theory, what's to stop the owners of two clubs doing a reciprocal deal to sponsor each others team shirts for £100M? It would get round the rules for how much an owner can subsidise their own club.

Are you really trying to say the club is well run,13 players out on loan £90m + loss the worst squad we have had for many years, shocking football, flirting with breaching FFP rules, mid table mediocrity, five managers in three years, an abysmal transfer record wow are you Tony Scholes Just not making any prejudgements on this one, that's all, until we have the details. I notice you seem to be complaining about 5 manager's in 3 years. Is that because you would prefer it to be 6 I would have preferred just the one after Hughes, instead our board have appointed failure after failure, well run club

It seems to me that our posting of an £83m loss in the last set of accounts is due to our inclusion ( which we are allowed to do for 2019/2020 and 2020/2021) of COVID 19 costs & clearly because we have taken advantage of the below ruling- such costs are excluded in computing our year end losses (so the £83m will include such costs, but for FFP they will be excluded and the loss will be much much less). Clearly we have to place our faith in TS having identified & calculated such costs in line with the “guidance issued by the ( EFL) Board.” TS is a qualified Accountant and should be totally capable of interpreting the guidelines correctly; speaking as someone similarly qualified, I will put my faith in him having done so and as such I will say we will avoid any FFP penalties.
1.1.7 COVID-19 Costs means lost revenues and/or exceptional costs incurred by a Club that are directly attributable to the COVID-19 pandemic and that are identified and calculated in accordance with such guidance as issued by the Board;

The accounts have just been submitted to Companies House. Should be available in the next day or so for us to dissect.

When criticising the running of the club you have to explain this. Senior football administrators have consistently told me that Stoke City are one of the best run clubs in the country

FFP guidelines have been in existence for years. If we have fallen foul of them, then that rests solely at the feet of the CEO-he cannot claim it’s nothing to do with him; he is responsible for compliance with all necessary regulations. As I’ve said elsewhere, I hope he is on top of this. Well said. If Stoke City, FC were publicly traded, the shareholders would have kicked him out years ago. He must be the highest paid, know-nothing-about-football CEO in the business. He’s basically a million-quid-a-year paper pusher that doesn’t even do that well (pushing paper that is - he is very good at picking up a pay check). He needs to go.

Only Cousins is actually out of contract apparently. Powell is next summer, Mikel and Chester have been given another year, and Blondy's got a new long-term deal

I don't think we are going to get hit by FFP sanctions this season it would the season after next and could take a couple of years to apply any punishment. That gives us time with players out of contract to balance the books and even post a small profit.

In tonight's Sentinel Green 'Un, there is an accountant who has looked at the Clubs accounts, & is answering questions on how we would be affected by the FFP rules. He doesn't seem too bothered by what he sees.

There arent any question marks about the accounting, more whether the decrease in "assets" values due to COVID19 are realistic or not.
