And the final whistle of what has been a dour season particularly the second half. Too many injuries, poor tactics, poor subs, often poor team selection and some baffling transfer dealings. The big question is will it continue into next season or will MON turn things around and get us playing like we were for the 2nd half of last season. A certainty will be that he won't get such an easy ride with the return of supporters in the stadium. Gouranga.

It's sure been dismal for the most part........but we'll all be there next time with our unwarranted optimism.

I find the thought of next season really depressing if MON is still here he reminds me of the ex prime minister John Major the grey man as they called him. Things need to change as i do not see the crowd being very excited or responsive to the same sort of football we have seen for the last 4 or 5 months.

I've never voted Tory in my life but I'd take John Major over Boris as PM any day. Having a Prime Minister who at least attempts to be reasonably honest most of the time seems to be the minimum any country should expect.

The answer to the second question is no I have no idea whether MON is more honest than Major or vice versa. The crucial thing is that I don't believe either of them are compulsive liars like Boris.

Can't be many folk who've been sacked in civvy street for LYING TO THEIR BOSS (when working for the Spectator) and sacked from the Cabinet for LYING TO THEIR BOSS.
So the Tories elect him as party leader thinking he'd be the best man to pull the wool over the public's eyes.

He's just another politician - tells people what he thinks the majority want to hear. They all lie some are better at than others, some don't get caught and some don't care if they're found out as they can divert the attention elsewhere. Is MON a Major type in comparison? Dull as dishwater pretending to be as honest as the day is long whilst shagging one of his colleagues on the side for several years? Gouranga.

I can't recall a previous prime minister who lied to the same extent as he does - and I've been around a long time. The Northern Ireland protocol is a case in point. Boris said many times loud and clear, in the Commons and in newspaper articles and press conferences, that the agreement he had signed with the EU would not mean a Customs Border down the middle of the Irish Sea. And that anyone who was handed a Customs Declaration for goods being transported between those 2 parts of the UK after 1 January should refuse to fill it in. At the same time my former colleagues in Revenue and Customs were telling me that the government were actively recruiting and training new Customs staff in Northern Ireland and the Northern ports of Great Britain. Lo and behold, once the transition period to leave the EU ended on 31 December, a Customs Border was implemented between Great Britain and Northern Ireland and Customs staff were deployed at ports and airports serving routes across the northern part of the Irish Sea. I could go on - but I won't bother because there should be no need to spell it out - the bloke is an habitual liar and his lies are there for all to see if they can be arsed to look for them.

What has this got to do with football ? I suppose we're comparing Prime Ministers to Stoke managers, all Prime Ministers are liars and most Stoke managers are crap (not liars), all Prime Ministers spunk the taxpayers money up the wall while most Stoke managers (of late) have spunked the clubs money up the wall. The outcome is similar I suppose that as a football club we haven't got a pot to piss in (thanks to FFP) and a s a country we're in the shit up to our ears financially. Any other similarities are most welcome Gouranga.

I hope you're not going to trick me into bringing ex managers into the thread as well, I know Mark Hughes, Paul Lambert and Sir Tony Pulis are out of work, Nathan Jones and Gary Rowett are doing decent jobs at their current clubs but there's no place in this thread for them. Gouranga.

I’m not sure what I’ll miss most the season or the endless repetitive threads saying the same thing over and over.....:-) Like - Rate MON v ... and him getting 0. Or - play the younsters. Or - Why the fuck has he bought Vokes on again. Or - What the fuck does Vokes offer. Or - has there ever been a worse player than Vokes at Stoke> Or - When is Tyrese back. Or - another loss and only 6 wins in a decade Or - how long do we give him. Or - he has to go. Add your own examples Gouranga.

I'm not for hiring a dinosaur, but the continued bleating about needing a foreign manager (Just for the sake of them being foreign) was pretty steady all year. We need a major overhaul - unfortunately that's STILL true what, 5 years running?
But we did lose one: We can't sing "We Only Score From a Throw In" anymore because the team seems to have forgotten how to do it.
Oh forgot the reason I popped in: This Derby saga should make Saturday more interesting!
